  1. An argument can be made that performance has plateaued since sandy bridge. Unlike GPUs cpus haven't improved significantly.
  2. Sata drives are so 2008, you need some nvme.
  3. Are we at this point now, where we can use "linus" as a verb...
  4. I'm being serious, How has this not come up after 6 months.
  5. Since stuff like Elite Dangerous (which is still not finished).. its a way for a "small" studio to fund the game dev process.
  6. Same Although the gpu launch is a small part of "big news" they have been hinting at, which means big things for autonomous cars and deep learning aficionados.
  7. By august we had tons of cards (AIB and Founders) available in my area (Victoria, BC) Even some of our small "mom&pop" stores were stocking them.
  8. Must read through comment before posting....
  9. Oh wow, sentence structure fail...
  10. Dont nitpick, I meant 20 series. Heres the link http://wccftech.com/nvidia-pascal-volta-gpu-leaked-2017-2018/ Thats probably why it hasn't been released we would have seen it months ago if that was the case, I think their gonna skip it.
  11. Keep in mind that we might see the launch of the new GTX2000 series @ CES
  12. Isnt budget oriented the whole thing with going AMD? I'd personally rather pay less b/c there isnt a "bling" or "gaming" tax on the product.
  13. Proly b/c they still make legacy technology, serial communication is still a must have for many industry items.
  14. It could be thunderbolt 2, which uses the same connector as mini displayport.
  15. Heliums a fenite resource though, our supply wont last forever. This whole, No jobs, just robots doing shit for us idea doesn't sit well with me. All things like this do is continue to divide the working class and the rich.
  16. GPU boost can do some funny things with the clock rate, try running hardware monitor and log the data the so you can see whats activity happening with your system during the drops. http://openhardwaremonitor.org/
  17. This is probably much more likely http://wccftech.com/nvidia-pascal-volta-gpu-leaked-2017-2018/
  18. The CES preshow Keynote speaker is Nvidia, they have been hinting things pretty hard lately. I would not be surprised to see some sort of announcement about the new "Volta" architecture and GTX2000 series refresh.
  19. Sorry but how is it overpriced? There isnt a comparable product on the market. When you in essence have a monopoly of the market you can dictate the price.
  20. In regards to the video you linked, that guy... He doesn't understand the core concepts, the cost of R&D for example. Not to mention inflation.
  21. Enough about zen already, lets give a shit when we see actual scews, motherboards etc. The thing nobody seems to be mentioning is the new X299 boards, the nda for which finally ends on Jan.1 (I think) Back on topic... My vote is 6700k.
  22. Dells for this one. The product is solid, good panels. And generally have monitors geared towards industry rather then general consumers. I use 2x Dell 2209wa 1x PB278Q The dells have a solid "industrial" feel to them, where as the Asus monitor feels cheap. Plus Dell holds the #1 Market Share monitors. https://www.statista.com/statistics/260474/global-pc-monitor-shipments-by-vendor/
