OK, thanks!  But what about having to calculate in binary?  In other words, does the exam give you a set of 1s and 0s and expect you to know (for example) what IP address that would translate into?

Well that's good to know.  But I'd still need to know all of it to pass the exam.

The stuff on Networking for the 220-1001 exam is pretty complicated; at least to me.  I mean, I'm in my 40s, so it's not like I thought that the internet was simple to run, but all these port numbers, IP address numbers, MAC address numbers-in hexadecimal.  I was never that great at math, and then the guy starts getting into binary-OK, I know the basics: a 1 is on and a 0 is off.  But if I have to do binary math on the exam, that would be a real headache for me.  Apart from the networking content, it wasn't so bad.

What do you mean by co-op?  A community college that's not to far from me has a certificate in computer repair.  I already have a BA, and right now I'm at a point in my life where it's just not a good time for me to study for another Bachelor's degree

The thing that worries me about getting into Cyber Security is all the data/privacy breaches that seem to happen (at least) on a weekly basis now.  So I worry that I'll end up being cut even if I was doing my job.  Somebody has to be the fall guy after these events.  Or maybe I'm just worrying too much, which I have a tendency to do.
 
The other thing that concerns me is how to get hands-on A+ experience-should I build my own PC and take video footage of the process?
 
I did watch all of the online video courses, through Udemy, for the 220-1001 exam, and took all the quizzes and they emailed me a certificate of completion.  Unfortunately, that doesn't count towards getting a discount on the exam, which is a bummer.
 

Gotcha.  I promise that I'm not a console fanboy at all, so I apologize if I came off as one.  Who writes the instructions for all CPUs?  AMD and Intel, respectively?  I'm sure there are different ones for ARM-based processors.

I know that nothing is 100% secure against viruses, hacking, and the like.  But I have heard news reports that suggest that it's easy for someone to hack into a smart tv.  I think you can turn off the smart features on a smart tv, but this still concerns me, regarding security and privacy.

Yeah, but is the design of the keyboard switches to blame??  If it’s true that something as small as a speck of dust can render a key unresponsive, then all of us who own 2015-present MacBooks are in trouble.

I know it’s enough, I just saw some videos on YouTube with a guy gaming on the same model MacBook Pro that I have using just the Intel Iris Graphics 540, and 16GB of ram.  He was getting frame rates that are at least as good as what you’d see on a PS4 or Xbox One.  I didn’t get my MacBook Pro for gaming, but seeing those videos really impressed me.

Yeah, Paul, from Paul's Hardware on YouTube, says that he just uses MalwareBytes-no specific antivirus program.

IMO if you're not a competitive gamer then they're fine. If you can't detect the latency when you move your mouse then it probably isn't going to affect your user experience.
 
Personally I have a thing for sony TV's in this application because they're compatible with almost anything.

Gotcha.  I just wonder why the new Doom worked on the build, and Crysis 3, which is older, didn't?

witcher 3, crysis 3, watchdog (watchdogs 2), arma 3, dayZ, grand theft auto 5...cities skyline...those are the games that comes to mind when thinking CPU intensive games.
