New build for a friend! Opinions needed
raymen1 replied to raymen1's topic in New Builds and Planning
Totally forgot about it hahaha! Could you elaborate please? I can switch it no problem if its bad or something -
Hi guys! I've been discussing with a friend what his next build is going to be like, the idea is pretty clear at the moment and I wanted to get the LTT community approval just in case it needs some changes We currently live in Spain, and the budget is 1000€~ The aim of the build is gaming at 1080p with a secondary screen for YouTube/Netflix&chill/whatever (secondary screen is probably going to be salvaged from somewhere else and is probably not going to be 1080p). Summing up PC + 1080p monitor. Pricing has been taken from http://www.pccomponentes.com/ , Spanish site that we will be using to buy the stuff from. Things we have in mind so far: CPU: i5-6600 220€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/intel_core_i5_6600_3_3ghz_box.html) SSD: 240GB Crucial BX200 69€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/crucial_bx200_ssd_240gb.html) HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 46.95€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/seagate_barracuda_7200_14_1tb_sata3.html) RAM: 2x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2400 PC4-19200 CL15 63.15€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/kingston_hyperx_fury_ddr4_2400_pc4_19200_16gb_2x8gb_cl15_reacondicionado.html) CD/DVD: LG GH24NSD1 15.95€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/lg_gh24nsd1_grabadora_dvd_24x_negra.html) MoBo: MSI H170A PC Mate 92€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/msi_h170a_pc_mate.html) PSU: 600W 80+Silver Tacens Radix VII AG 52.5€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/tacens_radix_vii_ag_600w_80_plus_silver.html) Case: Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition 67€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/corsair_carbide_100r_silent_edition_negra.html) Monitor: BenQ GW2270H 22" LED 105€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/benq_gw2270h_22__led.html) Total : 731,55€ Graphics Card: I forgot to add that we are waiting for aftermarket RX 480s to arrive at our store, the idea is to buy the pc now, and add the card later. (250-300 estimated price in € ). Case and monitor where not really thought about so your opinion would be much appreciated! What would you change and why? Thx!

Corsair k 70, I really don't need to switch but it has lived its battles and some features have stopped working (typicall liquid spill). So a new one would be nice

Intel Haswell 4670k + 4770K Overclocking guide
raymen1 replied to ProKoN's topic in Guides and Tutorials
Hi! I've been following your guide to overclock my 4770k and I have run across a problem at the power saving stage. My OC is currently set as: CPU -> 1.305v at 4.5Ghz CPU cache -> 1.305v at 4.3Ghz VCCIN is set to 1.9v Ram -> Gskill 2133Mhz using default xmp1 profile which seemed stable. EDIT: Cooler -> Kraken x61, max temps at 87ºC under Intel extreme tuning utility. I got clock_watchdog_timeout BSOD every now and then (long time period ~ every 1-2-3 weeks or so) so I cranked the voltage +0.05 on CPU and Cache, seems stable now. My MoBo is Asus Maximus VI Hero When I got to power saving stage I couldnt find Cpu ratio mode or Enhanced Turbo in my bios, so I took it for granted that I didnt need those (yolo). I did set, however, Core/Cache voltage to Adaptative and CPU C states from auto to Enabled. Package C-state limit was auto by default. After saving and trying to get into windows I get the Whea uncorrectable error BSOD, instantly, nothing else can be done. Soooo I came here to try to get some help Any ideas? If you need any info about my OC or system just ask -
Thx everyone for your help! I have decided to buy Sennheiser HD558 'cause they are available in my local store. I comboed them with a Trust Starzz mic, gonna test this setup and will change to hyperx cloud II if I'm not comfortable. Thx again for everyone's help
-
I just priorize gaming, I like all kind of music but nvm that
-
3 left then, which one would you guys choose? -Hyperx Cloud II - 92€ -Sennheiser HD558 -139€ -Beyerdynamic DT990 pro (250Ohm) -141€ I'm not confident in choosing one myself
-
Cant seem to find them here sorry Only found 250ohm version, would have to buy from somewhere else and that may get pricing out of control. thx anyways!
-
Never heard of them (not much into audio), do they need an amp? there are various versions so I'm a bit lost with these ones
-
Would you go for the 558 or the 598? 15€ difference here
-
Really nice suggestion, didn't know about them. Been reading some reviews for a while and they seem top notch. So asking hd598 vs ath-m50x is not going to work 'cause both of them are that good, however I've been reading that the HD 598 may be a little bit better because of the open design when playing games (soundstage). Will consider!

I know you guys are tired of reading these kind of posts so I'll try to make it quick! The thing is I am currently looking for some headphones after reading some posts here at LTT forum because mine are on the brink of death. Sennheiser HD 558 / 598 -> The conclusion after looking at some of the posts is to buy the 558 because the price diff is not worth the minimal audio difference. I currently live in Spain and the price difference between these two is 15€ (135 - 150 €), not much at all so I'll just leave it there for you guys to consider (ATM these are the ones to go for me) HyperX Cloud II -> You guys seem to love them, here in spain they come at 92€ ~ Audio Technica AD700/700x -> Really difficult to find here so I have currently desisted in looking for them. I game all day and would really like a sharp soundstage (been reading about Audio Tech. Sennheiser about that), music is not a priority, just casual background spotify while playing non competitive games. I have no desktop mic so that may also be worth considering. Help me make the decision guys! Thx.
