Where did you find it for 800?

Hey all, I am looking for a laptop for around $700 Canadian. I have a pc so this would not be my main computer however I would still like it to be powerful enough. I am a 5th year (coop) software engineering student and will be graduating in April. The main reason I want a laptop is for programming and web browsing. This for me means I would like it to be powerful enough to run one or two virtual boxes and I also would like it to be easy to have it dual boot to Linux. If anymore info is needed I will be happy to provide it. Also as cyber Monday/black Friday are just around the corner if you have suggestion that are a higher priced but I could keep a look out for on those days then let me know!

Hey guys, my friend is doing graphics and motion desgin and was about to buy a 3000 dollar mac but me and my buddy convinced him to go the PC route. His buget is around 2000 dollars and im just wondering which graphics card would best suit his needs. I was thinking a quadro may suit his need well but i just dont know much about them. Also I know this isnt the right forum but if you have any suggestions on cpu's that would be awesome too! Any help would be awesome! *EDIT: His buget for the whole pc is 2000, not just for the GPU, thats my bad

I know linus has mentioned that they havent done any unboxings lately and mentioned that no one has made a comment about it but I'm sure I'm not the only one that misses unboxings! However if I am feel free to let me know haha.

Hello all I am currently trying to transfer data from one of my internal drives to the other however i am getting transfer speed of 1.7 MB/s. I know this cannot be normal but I do not no why it is happening any help would be much appreciated

Sorry I really should have given more specifics lol. I listen mainly to EDM and trance so to me soild bass is a must as well i would rather a closed design and the ear cup shape is kinda important to me. I've had other headphones since the Skullcandy's I linked with round ear cups and the just dont work well for me. So far the out of the suggestions the ones that really stand out to me are the ATH-M30 and the Sony MDR-V6's however im not really a fan of the Sony MDR-V6 style but I may be able to set that aside. Also portability isnt really a big issue to me I wear a backpack alot of the time anyway lol. The last thing i would like to add is that I like my headphones to have some colour and sytle this isnt a requirment but if it was possible it would be nice :). Thanks for all the suggestion btw this has been very helpful and more suggestions are of course welcome lol.

I am in the market for new headphones, not a head set, but headphones. I had these headphones before (http://ca.skullcandy.com/shop/agent) and they have been the best fit for my ears i have ever found if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them :))

dont use and IDE plain text plus compiler is the way to go!! lol so I guess that means mine is gedit and terminal (with what ever compiler)

I have nvr used python but Visual Basics is also almost english and its interface builder features are rly rly easy to use so if you want to make rly easy interfaces VB is awesome and VB has concepts from the very simple to the very complex its not a baby programming language its just easier to learn then others. No offense to python though lol ive just nvr used it

The way I started was HTML rly rly simple and it sorta gives u a feel (it is the language websites are mainly wirtten in) that being said if your looking for programming and not web dev then i would say visual basics :) probably the most readable language out there and its very good for its interface capablities
