Just saw the thread and that guy is a complete tool. I hate when people demand you respond like that. I had one guy start to follow me on twitter and start spamming me there just to try and get an answer since apparently I didn't respond fast enough here.

It amazes me the level of stupidity to piss off the person that's trying to help you... and not answer questions I needed answers to to try and help him. 2 hours trying to help him... if the laptop was in front of me and I could SEE everything, then I could most likely fix that problem in 5 mins. And if not, as I don't know what version of elementary he was trying to get working properly, then I could've suggested he try a different distro... or just re-install it anyway, but he didn't even know what partition scheme he used etc to install windows or elementary. It was like pulling teeth, so I definitely wasn;t going to try and walk him through how to find that out, lol

I had another guy PM me with a kind of question about ram, he had joined the site 20 mins previously is all... so I don't respond to those, especially after he didn't ask nicely or anything either. Just basically posted the ram info and says "will this work".

BTW, I didn't mean anyone I know on here already.. If I can help I will, just no new persons looking for a fix "NOW" and all that type of shit.

I would ALWAYS help friends and acquaintances if I can... I have a fair bit of experience with PCs, only downside is my memory problems don't always co-operate

Yah, I get annoyed with those "PLEASE HELP URGENT! MUST HELP ME" titles too. People who act rude to those trying to help others is probably half the reason I'm always sure to be extra nice to anyone helping me, no matter how bad the problem might be. For every nice person you deal with there will be 10 or 20 assholes who scream and yell to try and get their away

Several years ago, at my last job, I knew a guy who hurt his back in the middle of working and a customer came right up and started yelling at him demanding he get a certain soda from the stock room. He was a far better guy than me because he went and got it instead of telling them to jump off a cliff.

Yeah my rule of thumb when helping someone if they become annoying I simply do not reply anymore, if they started to spam notifications I would block them though no one has been stupid enough to do that to me yet.

But how do I lose weight? Surely I cant just eat less and move more? Any better advice than such nonsense?

I ALWAYS try to be nice, I always say please and thank you, always have, as that's how I was brought up. I wouldn't dream of being rude to someone that wasn't pissing me off particularly badly.

I can come off as an asshole sometimes, but if I do I usually apologize.. I try to see both sides of something and use logic, but sometimes when people don't act logically or have common sense it bugs the shit out of me.

I DO have a major flaw, and I know it... I can get narky if people condescend to me, or talk down to me.. or seem to. It's especially bad because of my disability with my memory and such, so it's a sore point sometimes. And I try NOT to let it bother me, but I am EASILY angered since my problems started.

I apologize usually... if I see that I was wrong etc etc. So if I have ever done that to you, I apologize guys. Especially if I was asking for help, and I seemed ungrateful... I don't think I have, but my memory issues ^ as explained above.

I really hope I haven't done that to anyone when I asked for help with something.. that would bother me

@Bhav - I just recognized your name, I remember you having problems with your 5820/ 6850? a long while back, with the motherboard being DOA and you having to RMA it and stuff?  From Leicester IIRC?

Scan is the only shop which has some graphics cards as close to msrp, like the rx550, it is out of stock in Amazon nd in stock for £200. But on scan its £95! Wow.
