YouTube rewind is out for the year and I have a few things to say.  Bad news first, then the good.

They've given up on the huge production with lots of famous people and made it simply a compilation video.  It's not special or interesting at all as a result.

As usual, there is also an enormous discrepancy between what I'd consider to be the big events of the year and what they've included.

However,

They selected content entirely based on popularity (most liked, most watched, etc.) so I can't really knock them for the selection.  Unlike last year, there's no way we can complain that they selected things from mainstream media while suppressing the user content the platform is actually built on.  It was straight up just a "top 5" or "top 10" of every category, so even though subjectively I strongly dislike the choice, it's objectively perfect.  The fact that they did this - actually listened to the complaints from last year and tailored the new one to rectify those complaints - is a huge deal and they deserve a lot of praise for that.

Just watched it and gotta say that was a terrible piece of shit video a novice teenager video editor could of thrown together in their parents basement. Wasn't unique, the ordering didn't make any sense, but hey at least they included pewdiepie

And another year goes by where sadly the LTT Forums still does not have a photo of Ryan with a pancake on his head.

    Sad times.
