  1. Hello everyone. Yesterday was the third anniversary of the database and I wanted to thank all of the 200+ people who have uploaded to the proyect in all these years. I have been absent for quite some time now, coming every now and then to upload a few entries and try to clean up the format, but looking back to these three years I think all of you deserve better, the database deserves better than me checking it every six months. For now I will finish registering all of the remaining entries and clean the format to facilititate readability, I will be uploading a data analysis within the week and finally I am working on a new entry form that will hopefully be more clean and organized than the first version. I have a first glance of the analysis, and hopefully it will bring useful information to the table. Thank you again to everyone who has submitted to the database in all these years and to everyone who supported the proyect on its first days.
  2. An Aliexpress payment type would be effective in this situations I think it goes like this OP pays for a product ----> Aliexpress tells seller that they have an order --> Seller ships an item / Aliexpress recieves the money ---> OP gets the item --> OP reports to Aliexpress that the item is safe --> Aliexpress releases the money to the seller Valve could think of a similar way to ensure that the developers have secured money, but that also won't let them run away if they want like in this story
  3. I don't know if I deserved to be burned alive for this, but DOTA 2 was the first thing that popped into my head while reading the article Except for those damn treasure keys, ¬_¬ I really like this business idea, not only it creates a large userbase at the beginning, cause 'ya know, it's free, but it also creates a quite strong community if the only way to make revenue is to push your players to do something, not to buy something, the user is truly the end, not the medium. GG Epic, GG
  4. I was checking the DB tonight and just realised we passed the first hundred submissions (110 actually, but who keeps count?)! I really want to thank everyone that has contributed to the database, you guys are an amazing community, and also thanks to all of you for making this possible, for helping me to shape this dream into what it is today. I am sorry if the manual check for the submissions has been slow, but they are there now, and I promise more dedication from now on I just wanna say I am working in version 1.1 of the DB as of this writing, and will hopefully be out soon. A huge "thank you" to everyone that has collaborated to this idea, may it be by contributing to the original design (MeltyMoon and skullbringer), by submitting your results, by helping people in the thread, or even just by browsing the database and using the info to achieve your own OCs, this project is for you, and you make it possible. :')
  5. The naga seems pretty nice for what I want, will try it at my store when I have the chance Looks real pretty, the price tag is what kills this and the G502 for me thou. In other things, anyone around here with experiencie with Steelseries? (preferably the Rival and the Sensei, as I am considering those too)
  6. First of all, thanks to all of you who have answered Yeah, that's more like it. I have never owned a Steelseries but I have heard good things about it, anyone who has a Rival or a Sensei around here? ...the type of games you play are important to the mouse you get. Also, do you want to retain 3 side-buttons, or would you be happy with 2 (which expands your choices significantly)? Maybe more than 3 this time? Thanks for bringing that up Toby: I used to play a lot of Starcraft (I haven't played a lot now because I can't seem to build money for HoTS, and the WoL ladder is empty as my credit card), nowadays I play mostly Planetside 2 (FPS) and I just got into DOTA 2 last week. About the buttons, I mostly just use two outside of gaming (copy, paste), in DOTA I really like to use the three, but I can change my hotkeys if necessary Thanks again for the feedback!
  7. Seems to be the general consensus, "dat price thou" (79 USD) Any, little cheaper, options?
  8. My G500 left/right buttons have been failing for some time now, and it's just a question of time before I have to bury it, so I need to look for a new mice. I mostly like the G500 form factor, and the lateral buttons are really helpful in and outside of gaming, but I am willing to change if it present better options. Thanks in advance guys
  9. Is there any way to get an RSS link from that site? (to listen them on my phone)
  10. Oh internet, you just keep surprising me https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/297265509/koe-a-jrpg-with-japanese-at-the-core-of-gameplay The game uses a really interesting battle system that, literally, uses the power of words to defeat your enemies, by using the "hiragana" characters as items/skills. Combination of characters will allow the players to create new weapons and objects, also leveling up the individual sylables will increase the effectivness of the item it produces. And as any good'ol JRPG you will be able to create your character, select its gender, have pets, etc. The game seems like a really interesting concept, oh, and it also has creepy cats
  11. from your own computer? go to more reply options and below the box you'll see "Attach files" just select your file from your computer and voila! if it's from the internet, just copy the link and look for a button named "Image" in for format section above the writing box (should be below the "size" option) and paste the link Hope i was helpful
  12. So yeah, I myself use DoNotTrackMe, MaskMe (for somethings only), changed from Google to DuckDuckGo (which I found out to be quite useful anyway), Adblock (disabled on linustechtips.com of course) and my privacy settings at max on Firefox Exaggeration? maybe, but after seen that DNTMe blocked over 2300 tracking attempts in 8 days, it gets you thinking? Anyway, what about you guys? whose the more pronounced privacy nerd around here?
  13. Oh, you wise, wise man! I will give my answer with what I think is a beautiful quote: "If he were allowed contact with foreigners he would discover that they are creatures similar to himself and that most of what he has been told about them is lies. The sealed world in which he lives would be broken, and the fear, hatred, and self-righteousness on which his morale depends might evaporate." - 1984
  14. yes, but if you could specify the preset @ which you ran the games it would be much more helpful
  15. Sorry, I left the DB alone for some time, outside causes but everything should be fine now Also, I have been thinking about a revision for the DB, mayor change for the may stress tests are reported as well as some more actualized data. But, tell me people, what do you like and not like about the database, what would you add to it, what would you remove if you could??
