  1. we get to reclaim our spot. i will admit to playing more pc games and there for less F@H was done for it.
  2. Oh i understand, i replaced the with a WD black drive and that one has yet to fail me. I am guessing it was bad luck or the line wasn't QAed as much as Seagate replaced that line.
  3. @Imakuni i can give that a try, i can game at that clock with no issues for some time now. however i have seen f@h is a bit pickier about GPU overclocks.
  4. If thats default then yes. I just use afterburner to add to the clock and control fan curve.
  5. it hits 56c when at 1470MHz and 72% power limit, and at 1163Mhz it goes down to 48c with 47% power limit
  6. So when running F@H MY GPU will run at 1163 MHz, if i run like Netflix or YouTube it will jump to my max of 1470 MHz, only way i can tell to fix the issue is to run the protein viewer then it will run 1470 MHz all the time. but the viewer crashes often. am running GTX 960 4GB and windows 10. is there a better fix for this issue? anyone else have this issue?
  7. Gaming is the only reason i don't fold, but i got less time for that in tax season. so its running 24/7. but with gaming and f@h my computer has been pushed 100% for almost a year now. no sign of ware well less for a seagate ssd/hdd hybrid drive that was DOA, and 2nd one died in a week and 3rd one died 9 weeks after that one. but folding at home doesn't hit the HDD like the CPU and GPU. the LTT f@h team does need more active folders keep up the good work @Firecheetah13
  8. like the rest for windows OS i would say bare min 4GBs. if you only have 2GB on hand and don't want to buy more, then go with Linux
  9. most i can push my card is 1470Mhz at least with my newish hand at any kind of overclocking and this is what my rig puts out over all. with the 960
  10. if i never game about 48 weeks. but maybe a year from now.
  11. sadly I've seen this way too many times, one person told me they don't know why the laptop overheats so much as a baby roach came out of it.
  12. I think when i get to top 100, you'll pass me up. if you keep folding the whole time. my points ave per day is about 180k after pushing my over clock a bit more, GTX 960 4gb little work horse it is.
  13. @DutchTexan hear is a url for your profile Dutch Texan
  14. I understand the ac issue. room would be 20f higher then the rest of the house. no longer an issue for me nor power so rig runs 24/7 unless i game.
  15. long as the card is cooled well air or water. you'll be fine. you'll most likely want to upgrade before the card would give out.
  16. My gpu will use about 95% to 98%, but i have seen a few WU that just hit lower 90's. i am sure there is some reason for it. but my points per day work out okay for my card so i say its norm for the WU
  17. Small room fans at 100% gets annoying quickly. I can get safe Temps and not have to have them more then 60% power. And i can tone that out no issue.
  18. looks good. but i will admit to almost never going to the page unless i need to re-download the software. if it works to get more on board to help out I'm all for it
  19. Good to know, and so far my little card and F@H doing okay at new clock of 1,463MHz holding at. also didn't know about the odd number cores been having mine at 3 for the longest and so far didn't have any issues. don't know how much change there being putting it to 2.
  20. yeah on yeah i didnt know a cpu cooler would work on a gpu, however i cant get 1551 out of my card i get about 1502MHz before the power limit of 105% keeps it from doing any more. but i use a clock of 1490MHz for gaming that i'll try and see if folding wont give me bad WU's
  21. my card is clocked at 1,340MHz i could push it more for games but fh dont like it, the gpu itself gets on avg about 135,000 points daily some days better some not
  22. I am folding on a 960 4Gb i do wanna upgrade to maybe a 1070
