With that logic you shouldn't be on the internet, bub.

Calling me ignorant regarding the hacking community made me laugh. I work as a security consultant with a degree in CS working my way through Informational Security. I think I can safely say I'm pretty much informed about this crap.

And I'm sorry to let you down, but your personal info is already on the internet in one way or another. I bet you have a driver's license. Do you remember the DMV? Y'know, that hellish cesspit nobody wants to go to? Guess what. They store their data on sub-par servers with next to no proper security. I'll let you do the math.
Remember you bank account? Guess what. Your data is stored on servers that are easier to attack than launching a targeted attack; that's more money in a single hack, affecting thousands of victims, rather than relying on people catching malicious software that may or may not have a successful personal data turnover.

Shame cause it had potential to be a fun thread full of "what in the hell is that thing/why on earth would they do that?!" but ya...just became like any number of "dont by from this brand even though 95% of people have no issue with this brands products" threads.

Hey Linus and group! Long-time viewer, first time poster. I've made several posts on your YouTube videos related to your network about possible solutions to your problems and other general tips for good network function; however they seem to have been missed. I would be more than happy to discuss the issues you are having in detail and to help you find a solution. If you are wondering about my knowledge of the topics at hand I am currently a CCNA and am currently achieving my CCNP.

Love what you guys do and more importantly I love networking, so anything I can do to ensure you guys have the best access to your material so you can keep pumping out videos is a massive bonus for me! Let me now if you want to chat, if not, best of luck with the servers and the network. Keep the videos coming and if you feel like appealing to other networking geeks like myself make a dedicated video about your network, the topology (including the technologies you are using), and the addressing.

Edit: PS. If you use any 192.168.X.X addressing you lose all the Nerd Points.

If you don't have one, an SSD, no question about it.

Depends on how much typing you do on it. If you type a lot for a living - emails, notes, word, spreadsheets, programming, ect - I would say the keyboard get's the benefit, especially since you used one and already like it. A lot of people need time to adjust to a mechanical KB. My opinion might be in the minority but if you used a spinning HDD and don't think it's slow then you can wait. At least you'll get the benefit of getting it cheaper/more storage the longer you wait to buy an SSD.

growlitheharpo got a reaction from GoodBytes in System Image vs Clone?
This article explains the differences between cloning and imaging pretty well. Basically, you create an image if you want to be able to restore from that image later on. You clone if you want an actual exact copy (or clone) of the drive to be created. Cloning a bootable drive will create another, identical bootable drive while imaging it just copies some/most/all of the files in a compressed format that isn't bootable, but you can later restore from.
