Eylar reacted to Abyssic in little work log of painting my GPU shroud
Hi guys
After over a year of ownership, i finally came around to paint my Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X.
Thanks to @RollinLower, i remembered to take a few pictures with my shotty phone camera, so that i can make this work log.
So let's get started.
The first thing i had to do, was completely take apart my graphics card.
These are the individual parts. missing the plastic shroud, as it's already out for painting.
Here is what the painted shroud looked like on it's own. the paint is still wet.
In the meantime, i used an old OEM 9600GT that i had lying around.
coinincidentally, also a red one
and now, to make up for the lack of documentation pictures, here's some pictures of the finished work.
the work is not actually finished tho, as i'm going to replace the pcie-e cables with red extensions (like the ATX cable) and will most likely also paint along the sides of the graphics card's pcb. or in other words: make the yellow line from the cut pcb edge red.
feel free to let me know what you think and stay tuned to this thread if you want the see the two other changes that i described above.
have a nice day

The Apple Watch. It's expensive, it's luxurious, it's... very polarizing. Is it the right wearable device for you??

Build Title: NES 3.0

Description: This is a build I wanted to do for a long time, Something about putting a pc in my favorite game console from my child hood ,The Nintendo Entertainment System. A few goals I had for this build was for it to be cleanly built inside and out, good cable management and decent airflow. I feel that I succeeded in all three areas and pack quite a decent gaming pc in this tiny shell. This build was purposed built for my family and I to enjoy games and media together.
So this is my take on a Retro Classic with a modern twist!

How many motherboard photos do you want? I've got all of the CPU's, motherboards and FDD I've ever had in my computers, going right back from the mid to late 80's to the present day. -

My first computer had three (?) isa slots. Had a modem card in one of them

I am only aware of the AT spec, 486es and such because my original IT instructor was old school and hardcore. So glad you don't have to worry about remembering which RAM SIMM should be in whichslot.

I have a Voodoo 2 in my basement somewhere. It runs Crysis 3 at 0fps!
Also my secondary monitor it a '04 dell monitor. 1280x1024. Not sure of it counts as old or if it counts as a computer part
