  1. Makes sense on your situation. I was going to suggest public school but there is probably a reason why you are going to school out of your country.
  2. OP what country do you live in and how will you be getting to school? Take that into consideration too. When I go to college next year my PC will be going back in it's box and in the front seat of my car (I drive a SUV). Your situation is different but I am guessing you are considering that too.
  3. You could get a padded case like a Nunikk or Pelican Case.
  4. Go check out the Define Mini C online. It looks like a case to suit your needs unless you want even a smaller mATX case.
  5. Yea just go and buy a ITX or a mATX board and a ITX or a small mATX case. I am looking at the Cooler Master N200 for my new HTPC. I heard Fractal Design has some good small cases too. At least your 1070 isn't big like my 1070 strix and those FE cards do better in smaller cases anyway.
  6. Put your current rig in a ITX or mATX case. When I go off to college in the fall I am just going to lug my Mid-Tower to School with me. And on breaks I will probably end up just taking my laptop with me home (I am going to buy a gaming laptop soon to replace my Windows tablet). Even then by then I will still have a gaming rig at home that will be used as a HTPC that I could use (I have parts from my original rig and original HTPC that I am going to be using in a new HTPC, all I need is RAM and a case).
  7. Also keep in mind there is a difference about being good at PCs and knowing at PCs. I wish I still had that link from Reddit that talks about it. Even though I haven't graduated from High School yet (I do in a couple of weeks). I already have a year and 1 1/2 or so of college credit already. Even before that I have been tinkering with PCs both software and hardware since I was 8-9. And I am still teaching my self things now even. Good Luck!!!
  8. Just to add on what I said before you feel accomplished when you buy stuff yourself with money you work for. This is coming from a guy who used to get most of his electronics as gifts. I work a job making $10 a hour and you start to value money more. When my mom and dad were married and he had his high paying job and my mom had hers before she quit (she had a min. wadge job and it didn't make too much of a difference if she worked anyway) she would waste money and didn't value money like my dad did until they got divorced for other reasons. The reason why? Because her parents made money and she had gotten most of the stuff she wanted (even though she claims they were poor when in reality my grandparents spent money on horses and sheep and other animals for my mom and her siblings). Whereas my dad is more frugal with his money because both his parents were school teachers in Kansas and didn't make that much money (2/3 of Kansas is poor and they lived in that part in the middle of nowhere). So do what you want but eventually, you will value money more when you work for it.
  9. Honestly I think almost 6K is overkill. I'm not jealous but the liquid cooling could have waited until you got a job to pay for it. I paid for my own PC build (both the original build and the upgraded one (went from Skylake to Kaby Lake and from a 970 to a 1070)) for the most part (the only things that was bought for me was 1 stick of RAM and the original Wifi card (which I swapped out for a AC card when I went from a N Router to a AC Router)). Most people that I know that have custom PCs and/or Pre-built PCs didn't spend more than $1,000 on them (I know a few that spent $500-700 on them because that is only what their parents bought them or that is what they could afford). I built mine last summer with money from a summer job then I slowly started upgrading it after I got the job I have now in retail back in October up until now. My mom thinks it is stupid that I am pouring money into my PC but my dad thinks it is cool (he used to have a high end PC when I was a kid and my mom hated it).
  10. Also he can buy a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo with 11k Miles for around $87,000 USD.
  11. Linus could afford it if he sold his red cameras.
  12. @JayzTwoCents has fourms but no one ever uses them because they need redone.
  13. We still have one in my town of 10,000 people (used to have 3 at one point) they closed their 2nd location and then later moved onto a side road probably because rent is cheaper. Haven't been in their "new" location yet even though they moved a few years back.
  14. And I use the FM radio in my car too. Yes a car is a "Portable Music Player" in a way.
  15. My car radio lol. Actualy I use the bluetooth from my phone on it. Only have used my car's usb port a couple times for podcasts.
  16. just move to the US. We have easy rules.
  17. I can't tell because it will very on your setup. You will get decent framerates in that games.
  18. It should be fine as long as you only are gaming at 1080p or less.
  19. The synology NAS has a suveillance software in it along with a bunch of other stuff. The reason why the synology nas looks like a better option because it would be less of a headache to use with a lot of the features linus would use buit in. In end though its up to you. If you do want a Windows based storage server check out Thecus Nas because some of them even include Windows Storage Server for free on them too.
  20. Also I want to see some more build logs with Linus and Luke like the old days.
  21. I have had to disagree with Linus's opinion on that video. If you want a good 4 bay home based go watch barnaclues Synology Nas review.
  22. Better yet they could vs Jay and Jerry and Jay does all the work for their team. lol
