I think one of the most under-valued components of a MacBook Pro, especially for the low end, is the display and speakers.

The displays are 16:10, 2560x1600, and factory P3 calibrated. They look amazing.

The speakers are also very nice for the size of the 13" Macs and actually have range.

Granted most of these things can be had on the MacBook Air, but the speakers aren't as good, the display isn't as bright and it isn't P3 calibrated.

I'd say the trackpad alone almost makes dealing with the keyboard worth it for me...

I still wouldn't touch it because of that OS.

I would of said the same thing 6 years ago not today. You can easily get windows laptops that are 16:10 3:2 and other taller ratios. The res is okay in todays standards. Not great. The color calibration is pretty sweet though. The issue is my matebook for $1000 has a better screen, better specs, better ports, the same if not better speakers, and the old macbook style of keys with actual travel.

Having not seen any direct comparisons, and knowing that the MateBooks are difficult to find, I wouldn’t know. But my gut reaction is to say no.
