    Well manufactures do it al the time. Didn't Apple say its A12 Bionic chip was the industry first commercial 7nm chip? Despite the fact that Huawei beat them to it with the Kirin 980 just a few weeks earlier?

     

    Manufacturers know the general public isn't going to bother fact checking. So why not take advantage of that and turn it into more marketing bullet points? I bet you that's what they teach students in Business marketing courses.

    Well Huawei didn't have a phone with a 7nm chip in it yet. Apple had theirs developed and shipped in phones before Huawei did.

    @BlueChinchillaEatingDorito History doesn't care about who created what, it cares about who got up on stage and sold it. A12 Bionic was the first 7nm ARM chip to be in the hand of a customer, its the industry first by forfeit.
