Mentioned this to a friend of mine who recently had issues with people leaving him over his opinions, so I thought I’d share it here.
I’d rather have someone who has principle who is able to stand on his own ground and provide valid reasons and proof to support whatever stance he has. In essence, having a spine. What I don’t like is seeing people try to make a point but subsequently bow down to the herd mentality due to the majority factor rather than making a point and supporting it with facts.
On that same vein, we all have different opinions. I have much more respect for someone who disagrees with me and provides a list of factual evidence to back up his counter-thesis, rather than either;
- A person who just blindly agrees with whatever I say
- A person who disagrees but fails to provide any legitimate proof to back up his points, or resorts to being an asshat in retaliation.

Pretty much

To be brutally honest, I dislike anyone who thinks it's fine to be on the extreme.
It isn't. You're just contributing to the utter lunacy that is 21st century politics
-
I agree but on the other hand I respect people who can defend their views rationally even if they might be more extreme. It’s why I equally enjoy watching Bill Maher and Ben Shapiro. Doesn’t mean I have to agree to everything they say.

Absolutely. I still don't like people who like to go on the extreme but I respect anyone who can actually make a point about their views through the use of facts and such.
