DDR3 or DDR4 shouldn't matter at this performance level. Second gen Intels are still fine for gaming and really cheap. Also DDR3 is cheaper than DDR4. If gaming is the only purpose I would go with an older CPU and DDR3

PGP and S/MIME email decryption program vulnerability announced
testarossa47 replied to Granular's topic in Tech News
Does this affect e-mail attachements as well or just the text? -
Yeah I saw Jay's GTR but to be honest it seemed too good to be true. It looks like he won the silicon lottery with his one... Anyway the GTR looks like a great performer overall but for me silence is the N 1 criteria

Thank you! Found this Video: MSI Gaming X for me then, even though I don't like the design of it. (but I hate noise)

Anyone actually having a GTR? How loud is it compared to the competition? Better than the ASUS Strix?
-
I think ti actually was Google Hangouts that got SMS support a few years back

First I had the on board sound, but after a month or so I bought a DAC from Fiio. It gets rid of the noise when no sound is playing and improves overall clarity a bit. It's surely a good upgrade but it's not absolutely necessary I'd say

Took off intel heatsink then put it back on

I agree there. I just thought he doesn't know the "before" temps, since this is a completely new build (?). I just remember that i had around 87° C with stock cooler under full load, but then again, mine was an i7, not an i5 and also not Skylake, so yeah, I was a bit too fast putting some temps in my previous reply. -

Modern CPUs thermal throttle or shut down anyway (if there are some bubbles or so now), so just run some games or AIDA 64 as pointet out above. If the Temps stay relatively cool (approx. under 90 with intel cooler) and performance is on point, don't worry. -
It really depends. Before the A5+, I had A 2.1 from Wavemaster (it was just 50 bucks and sounded amazing for that price). Even some Logitech and such have more bass than the A5+, since Audioengine wants to deliver a clear sound, without software tricks to enhance Bass, like some other manufacturers do. This resulst (and I'm really not an audiophile) in a very true tone. The Highs are amazingly sharp but not shattering. The mids are cool as well. The bass is kinda pointing into your chest, so you don't get that lovely feeling in your stomach. A Sub would defenetly add to the experience if you're watching a lot of movies with it, but for just PC use (Youtube, some music and gaming) it's enough for me (I even watch movies with them). It's kinda on the edge where most people wouldn't need a sub, but if you're serious about audio and especially movies, yeah you need some sort of sub attached to it. Also have a look on Linus' video about the A5+ Feel free to ask whatever about them, I'll answer everything I can

Whats the best phone for under 300 bucks?
testarossa47 replied to TheV_Machine's topic in Phones and Tablets
Someone once told me the Moto G4 Plus is great, especially the camera is impressive for that price. Also it has Dual SIM + microSD. Near Stock Android is also a Pro (if you prefer that)- 4 replies

I have the A5+ an I'm very happy with them. Sure, the bass is a bit odd, cause there is no subwoofer, but honestly, i dont really need it. Oh, and they look amazing!
