  1. Never knew the ID numbers for S.M.A.R.T. went past 09. It looks like they are showing the Hex vs ID as per the scrolling NTFS article. Every tool I recall using with the ID's has it listed like this. Speccy/ CrystalDiskInfo 05 Reallocated Sectors Count BB Reported Uncorrectable Errors BC Command Timeout C5 Current Pending Sector Coun C6 Uncorrectable Sector Count
  2. This is actually pretty awesome for a pre-production product. Will be interesting to see what the price/quality comes to on release. Also a no monitor option would be nice and just slap in your own panel.
  3. I can't believe they put a notch on a laptop display. HAH! This shit is just too damn funny at this point. As for the headphone jack impedance, are they aiming for beyond what most quality phones can drive of 32 to a possible 64? Are are they aiming to push into the 100's range for actual high end products?
  4. I'm actually more tempted to take a Sidewinder x6 and convert it from the membrane keys. The x6 still has a far far better connection solution that requires no sliding gimmick. Style wise not a fan of the top hub nor the screens on the number pad.
  5. Most of the laptop reviews have been other staff members so that's not really an issue. Even if Linus doesn't host any of the main laptop reviews anymore there is still no reason why he can't put in his on thoughts still on the side. It shouldn't stop him from making good points or valid criticism. Also wasn't it mentioned in the earlier video that 3rd parties will be able to create their own expansion cards? Still very excited to see how far Framework can go. Just like the open source cpu RISC-V stuff.
  6. What's up with the Rosetta ethical bit? That's a rather interesting tidbit to edit over the video. Not being a mac person all I can seem to find(around March) is that Rosetta might be removed in some different regions?
  7. ios keyboard... Nah, it's literally swiftkey from android that MS bought out years ago. Also nice shirt during this vid. Quite fitting. Ayy more unnecessarily unremovable 'features' with teams... I would rather emulate android apps than use the amazon appstore. It's pretty easy now a days anyhow. Requires MS account and internet connection to install for at least for now home edition is a hard fucking pass. If that requires both of those then what else if baked into the os that does they don't and won't mention? This will for sure be a os release that gets left sitting collecting dust. Till it's either required with some new CPU and microcode requirements or something annoying like you can only play DX12 games on W11 with enough games having a DX12 only mode. Then might as well have a dual-boot system just for that game and enjoy a working W10 system. Would be amusing to see the salty script for this video too. There really is not enough good updates of features to outweigh the downsides. Even the things like the direct storage for gaming is going to takes years for anyone to get it going. Auto HDR... Yea, I'd rather just use something like reshade and adjust the game instead. And tools like PowerToys is likely going to get the new W11 features and make it better if MS doesn't can it Oof that is rough. That is something... Guessing it's all of the TPM crap they are pushing.
  8. Talk about downgrades. Wow none of that looked compelling at ALL to use. This feels like another W7 situation where it's not worth it to upgrades till forced.
  9. Can you actually change the look of the notification panel or not? And I don't mean colors but sizing to more like previous android versions without all the useless fluff space.
  10. Damn at first glance I'm really not a fan of the new notification panel. I hope you get more than color pallets and line weights for native UI tweaks. Being able to put everything back into a slimmed down mode like previous Android versions will be nice.
  11. Humble is just trying to divert people away from it's shitty new slider removal. Now preventing you from donating more than %15 to charity. I guess they got greedy at seeing gamers donate nearly $200m to charity and not their own pockets over the last like 7 or so years. That or big publishers pushed this after KNOWING what humblebundle is but also not getting a big enough payout. Either way humble monthly/bundles are dead to me. It was nice having a fun/easy way to donate to charity and show gamers are not just a shitty stereotype. As for Steam, ya it's fine. Show me a platform that does anything remotely close or as good as them. Could the cut drop? Yea sure with how massively successful Steam has become it would be cool if some Devs got more of a games sell price.
  12. What was the point of this video? To show that people can build a pc while COMPLETELY ignoring any provided instructions? They were there for a reason, use them.
  13. There is no way that PSU's will become cheaper on a new standard. Nor will Motherboards not take advantage of the increased required components to increase the price.
