  1. I would pick the Asus Sabretooth one. It's only the v3.0 of the 990FX Sabretooth that has pci-e 3.0.
  2. Yea, I guess I'm lucky, but upgrading the firmware was also the first thing I did when I got it. Really want to upgrade to the latest firmware, but I'll have to reinstall windows then Edit: It has been powered on for 2421 hours.
  3. My OCZ Vertex Plus (the 60gb one) is still going strong with 2.5 years on it's back and no reallocated sectors
  4. Age: 16 Skype (optional): I have one, but won't post it here (just pm me) How long have you been playing: Don't really know, 3 to 4 years.
  5. It looks like the only diference is the vrm, making the MAX one a tiny better under extreme overclocking (water and LN2). As for other motherboards in the same price range, theres the Asus Maximus VI Hero, Gigabyte Z87X-OC and the Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H. I would properly pick a Asus or Gigabyte over a Msi board, but that's just me.
  6. The GTX 780's has way more CUDA cores than the Quadro K4000's from what I can see, but the Quadro's would properly be better for video editing, as they are optimized for it, has ECC RAM and other features. But they will properly suck at gaming. So I'll recommend the 780's, unless you need the premium features of the Quadro's.
  7. When you run multiply graphics cards, the idea is that the gpu's share the work. So the first graphics card draws the first frame, the second card draws the second frame, the first card draws the third frame and so on. So the do the same work (drawing frames) and this requires that both gpu's has vram to load the same textures (as @MG2R explained). Some games are badly optimised, so they don't really run well on multiply graphics cards, and it might even perform worse than on one graphics card. And it's often the graphics card vendors who optimises their drivers, so the badly optimised games run better on multiply graphics cards.
  8. I would say that the Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 is the best value AM3+ motherboard. 990FX chipset and 6+2 digital power phase. If it's out of your budget, I'll say the Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0. It's basically the same motherboard, but with the 970 chipset and with less features.
  9. Really good looking phone made with a full aluminium back and good build quality.
  10. I might trying with a heatgun. I have already tried with different ram sticks, with both one and two sticks.
  11. Hi. So I recently bought a Asus P5K Deluxe from eBay and got it yesterday. The board looked fine and I couldn't see anything wrong with it, so I installed a E8400 in it, powered it on aaaaaaaand.... Nothing... The fans were spinning, but no post, beep or anything else. So I changed the ram (even removed it, did the same), the cpu and the psu. I did also remove the chipset/vrm heatsik to chech if something was dameged or overheated, but there was nothing to see. The bios chip is soldered and I have no tools to flash it with, but I don't think it's the bios, as there are no beeps or anything. The eBay seller sold as is, without return and even if he did, it would cost almost the same to ship the board back, as what I paid for it. I took a picture and filmed it: http://youtu.be/hR0C46TH6pY So do you have any suggestions for what I could try or do to make it work, or is it just dead? Thanks
  12. Found this one on Newegg. It seems decent and have 4 eggs (or what ever you call it).
  13. Then go for it (if you actually have plans of buying it). The specs also looks really good, IPS, Android 4.2, and it even has an quad core!
  14. I don't really think I would like the bar/stand thing in the bottom, but that's just my though. Don't know about it ether, try goggling about it, you might be able to find some reviews.
  15. The hardware looks good, but not sure on the software. But it looks interesting and for 200$, it sound like a steal!
  16. I have seen people mount this one in power supply's made for 135mm fans. But the mounting holes on it is the same as on 120mm fans. Edit: Found this on the interwebs: "Finally find a fan that can replace the 135mm fan from my PSU. I have it done by attached the 120mm->140mm extension up-side-down to the fan, rotate all of them for ~150 degree." source
  17. A graphics card with a blower style cooler is better for small and bad ventilated cases, as it blows the hot air out of the case.
  18. Yea, something like this ^^ or the Gigabyte Z87-HD3.
  19. Lenovo makes really good laptops of what I have seen (they are very popular here in Denmark). But I don't know about their tablets.
  20. I know, but enterprise SSD's usually use higher end parts, for better reliability.
  21. Yea, you should keep it. I at least would... The 2013 edition has some pretty awesome specs, wish I had one...
  22. Enterprise SSD's use higher quality part (nand flash and controller), is tested and evaluated for high end work loads under extreme conditions.
  23. The ASUS one with the DirectCUII cooler looks pretty cool.
  24. Mini-ITX has only 2 dimm's, doesn't have as much expandability (only one pci-e slot and fewer sata ports) and is often priced higher than similar Micro-ATX boards. I would go for a Micro-ATX board.
  25. I agree, Origin definitely needs to add some kind of gifting system, like on Steam.
