  1. Ok so I stayed up all night researching and I found the solution, apparently the Dell monitor by default is NOT set to display port 1.2. So once I went into the monitor's menu and turned on 1.2 it started up just fine. Also thanks for the tip about the clean install, it seems once I downgraded and upgraded again the boot up time went back to normal. Probably an issue with my initial upgrade.
  2. Here's a GTA test, the i5 really helps since the game very CPU intensive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLs-sMteggg
  3. The i3 4170 with its 4 threads should do good, I have one in my brothers build and you can always upgrade it later down the road. Of course an i5 will always be stronger tho.
  4. I kinda just now realized that this should've been posted in troubleshooting...
  5. Anyone else have this problem? I have all my drivers and bios up to date and Window's is up to date. The display would be detected in Device Manager, but it wouldn't show up in the Nvidia Control Panel or in the Display Setup. Switching to HDMI did fix the issue, but I use that port for my TV. On top of this start up was ridiculously slow so I switched back to 8.1 for now, but I'd really like to have Windows 10 on my main machine since all my other computers runs perfectly fine with it.
  6. Is it asking for a Windows Key? When I did a clean install on my laptop I just skipped that step and it installed just fine since the licence is tied to the hardware.
  7. Canon is good if you want the optical viewfinder, but the Sony is very compact. I switched to Mirrorless (Panasonic G7) from DSLR (Canon T3i) and so far I've been satisfied.
  8. I had an SG10 and it is really nice and small, but holy crap is it a pain in the butt to replace parts in. I switched to the bigger Fractal Node 804, and used the Silverstone for my brother's PC.
  9. Well the red is slightly higher clocked, but not by much at all
  10. Different color coolers, one is white and the other is red.
  11. I have one and it works, so I guess its fine Also I haven't overclocked mine.
  12. Cool and stuff, but I REALLY don't want to game on a android tablet.
  13. Panasonic G7 is on sale right now for $600 if you want 4k video. But you will need to buy a another lens to get nice background blur, like the Panasonic 25mm 1.7 or Olumpus 45mm 1.8 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1148283-REG/panasonic_dmc_g7ks_lumix_dmc_g7_mirrorless_micro.html Also keep in mind you will still need to buy a tripod, good lighting, and maybe a slider if you want similar quality to the videos you posted.
  14. Both are very similar, I would choose depending on whether or not you want Nvidia or AMD software, or if one is significantly cheaper than the other.
  15. You do know the i3 is 2 cores 4 threads right?
  16. I know you can find crazier stuff on Craigslist, but this made me laugh a little.
  17. I don't play any fighting games (although I own some and I want to eventually get into them), but the Hori Commander 4 seems to be one of the better options out there. I kinda want to get it just for retro games.
  18. Any specific budget? If you just need something really cheap you could get a Canon EOS M for $400 off Amazon and put Magic Lantern on it.
  19. That is pretty fishy, and there's pretty much nothing on his profile page. But they are really good deals
  20. Nice, picked up the 1TB Seagate. I've been really needing more storage lately. Update* Decided to even get another 1TB drive and the 120gb SSD since I'm building a computer for my brother.
  21. It's in the CPU support list so it should work, but I don't know if it will overclock with the board.
  22. Powerline may or may not work depending on your house. My house is about 20-25 years old and I get worse than wireless G speeds with powerline. Decided to upgrade to 5ghz instead.
