The whole VC lineup from ASUS is great. Super thin bezels, pretty good response time, and IPS quality. I'd say go for those.

KillerTom500 reacted to Epikas in Bitfenix Prodigy-M Motherboard Orientation Mod
Hello there everyone. Well I recently purchased the Bitfenix Prodigy-M case, but to my disappointment, the motherboard was inverted, and the airflow was flowing in the wrong direction. For some reason, the Bitfenix designers thought it would be a good idea to have cold air intake from the top, and have hot air exhaust out through the bottom. The results were terrible airflow, and heat dissipation. To fix this major problem, I decided to take matters into my own hands, and fix this great big problem.

The following pictures will guide you through this great adventure.

I've emailed bitfenix asking what their reason for this strange layout was, when it would work perfectly orientated properly.
They claim it was for better for parts compatibility and acoustic dampening. I say bs.
It was more for manufacturing purposes. It would only take minimum tweaking of the original prodigy to create the prodigy m. So to cut costs and time, they cheaped out and this was the end product.
    That's my 2cents

As for the mod, Im currently working on a google sketchup diagram for the picture. Be amazed at my amazing drawing skills (too much sarcasm)....

For graphics cards. Im sure it will fit the new 280x. Ill have to go measure it out with a ruler for max length. Ill be doing a case mod. In which I flip the motherboard to the other side. After, I will be buying custom water loop parts and wait for a waterblock to be released for the 290x. As for the gpu, I would suggest the msi gamer edition or hawk edition. Reasons being that it has less fans(only2) so less fan noise. Another thing is that since they are bigger fans, they can move more air without spinning as fast. Finally the hawk/gamer cards overclock ridiculously well. Its also shorter then its sappire brother.
I myself would've purchased thr hawk edition of the 7870 but the asus was 70$ cheaper.
The color scheme is black and red, but for some reason look orange in the photo.
Ill be sure to upload some angle shots when I get home from school. Ill send you shot of the bottom and top.

I currently have 2GB 770 SLI the diffrence between 4gb and 2gb have been tested with the Palit versions the performance diffrence in 5760x1080 (same res as me) is 2% for 90 bucks more for 2gb per card more, the performance diffrence doesn't define the cost diffrence.

So much envy for the racing setup! Is this rig just for racing games or is that just what you use it for the most?

Hello this is my new build I did because my old GTX 470 SLI wasn't powerfull anymore and I wanted to game on 5760x1080. Result was this little monster:
    -SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
    -HDD: 1TB WD Green
    -CPU: Intel Core I7 4770K
-CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2
-GPU: Asus GTX 770 DCUIIOC (2-way SLI)
-RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 8GB
    -Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Gene
    -PSU: Corsair TX750-V2
    -Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D (window)
    -Monitors: 3x Acer V236HL, Samsung Syncmaster 245B
-Keyboard and mouse: Steelseries Z-board, Logitech G5
-Speakers and racing wheel: Logitech Z-5500, Driving Force GT

Thinking bout watercooling but no money for that yet now that I bought this hardware.

And on request how I fitted the Vengeance Pro under the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2: clearance to fins bout 1/2mm and the fan I moved up few fins.
