  1. @Deblow your desk was featured in a Chive gallery recently. Gallery #4 and #9 look pretty good
  2. Some computers are built so the end user can take them apart and upgrade them, some are designed to be sealed units and never touched by the end user (insert fruit photo here)
  3. To the best of my knowledge some malware tools do need to be on a separate partition from the boot directories in case any of those were to become infected. I believe it boots into the other partition so the files don't get a chance to run at startup and disable your antivirus/malware tools.
  4. Did Luke ever figure out why it red screened on him? My tower does that to me about once a month and it gets really annoying..
  5. Thats my plan, just have to see if I can find one without "a big stupid wing on the back." That also falls into our budget..
  6. I got to check out the new Lamborghini Hurrican a couple weeks ago. It was sick. I keep trying to talk the wife into a WRX for a daily driver though..
  7. I have seen a number of other posts in desk builds done by someone in a grade 12 woodshop class..
  8. Personally a fan of P38's, F4U, and B24/25's. 38 is probably my all time favorite plane with the A-10 as a close second. Grandpa was a marine instructor for the F4U so I have always had that affinity. B24/25 are just plain cool looking with their tail setup. Plus I've ridden in one.
  9. Subbed to see progression of this project. On the front pannel can always use a drawer face to mount fans or do some custom acrylic work to make sure it has the look you want. Could also place the fans under the desk to reduce noise and have linear airflow to the I/O and across graphics card.
  10. Awesome project! Subbed I was thinking for the audio rings would be cool to do the red CF as well! Also had a thought (found this thread only today) on doing some of your compartments with magnetic pop latches from cabinets as they would give some lift to be able to open doors/lids. Is something I have done in a few projects. Other than that looks totally amazing and may be something I end up doing to get my cockpit set up for driving/flight sims on a budget. Its either that or going the obutto route. There is just something to be said though about handcrafted furniture..
  11. I have used my shop vac set to exhaust to blow out my system. For sure secure your fans though (zip tie loosely if you have a bunch of fans) Works great from 12-18 inches away to get large dust bunnies out.
  12. I like the first one, but maybe with the second cable in on each end of the 24pin as yellow as well? Also subbed as I am trying to figure out some options for my HAF Stacker..
  13. I will look into it, using infinitv6 card and would like to keep the ability to record 6 HD channels at once. I just need to research it some, but I will keep in mind. Thanks!
