    It will not work, even though it's the same connector, it doesn't work that way. When you connect a thunderbolt device, it's routed to PCI-e lanes directly I believe, a USB-C device is connected to the USB controller. It wont work, and if you connect a thunderbolt device to a device that only supports USB, it probably wont do anything.

    Yeah that's why I've been switching to playing with laptops, they are a lot more interesting to try and get around their short comings.
