  1. I play a lot of rogue like games, primarily Risk of Rain 2. I can't run that game at 60fps after about an hour in a run. My tv i game on is 120hz too. Ror2 looks like a gamecube game, and things like Resident Evil 4 2023 run perfectly at 4k60 maxed w/o RTX. Let's say price doesn't really matter, is the 3080ti even a good GPU to stick with considering I've just missed out on newer DLSS? Also what is potentially the best in slot CPU to go in the current LGA I have?
  2. Budget (including currency): USD hopefully around $550 or less Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multiplayer games w/ discord and streaming with OBS. Mainly indie games but I do like AAA games like Resident Evil or Elden Ring Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have this PC I got from microcenter: https://www.microcenter.com/product/640630/powerspec-g469-gaming-pc Intel Core i9 10th Gen 10850K 3.6GHz Processor NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti 12GB GDDR6X 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM 1TB Solid State Drive Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 10/100/1000 Network 802.11ax Wireless Bluetooth 5.1 I am over all satisfied, but I seem to have a CPU bottle neck. I was honestly inspired by a CPU/RAM/Mobo combo, but then I wondered if I do need a new mobo too. I am not particular to AMD vs Intel, but I have never had AMD before. I do have a 2nd PC that has 2070ti in it I could pass down my mobo and cpu and ram to if I REALLY was serious about streaming performance, so maybe getting a combo could be worth it. But I have been out of the PC part picking scene for a while and I don't even know what the latest LGA is called lol
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, I had a feeling it was my windows install so I upgraded to windows 11 and it basically solved the problem. I was able to play games again. I ran furnark with cpu burner on a few times in a row and it lasted. I'll refer back here if it continues or crops up again.
  4. It didn't do it when I was in my hotel, but ever since I got home, I go play Dead Space, or more recently Resident Evil 4 demo and my PC black screens and then reboots. Valheim and Risk of Rain 2 run ok, furmark can finish 4k benchmark but I can't play most games.. How can I even begin to tell what the problem is? these are my specs, thanks ahead of time and let me know if there's any other info i can provide or perhaps logs i can get.
  5. So my dad wants to get my mom a new laptop to replace her aging hand me down work station. The budget for this is $600. The use case is general media consumption, working from home, and light graphic design. She will primarily be using it hooked up to her two monitors, but still I wouldn't have her using a laptop with SUB-HD resolution, so at least 1080p hopefully. She's tech literate, so something slow wont do either. This can be a nice laptop, she knows how to properly care for PC hardware and software. With that being said, is now a good time to be looking for a laptop? Her PC is running a light version of Linux that my dad installed for her so Youtube and Pinterest aren't so slow. But she finds herself needing Windows OS more and more these days. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time. LTT forums always come in clutch
  6. Many final fantasy games are available. The newest is crystal chronicles. dont forget about emulation as well~
  7. the tv might have a 'motion smoothing' option or something to that effect. look in the video settings for your TV for any smoothing or motion settings.
  8. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Unlocked-Warranty-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B089HNHZ17/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=samsung%2Bgalaxy%2Bnote%2B9&qid=1600055536&s=wireless&sr=1-3&th=1 Amazing you can get a note 9 for this price. I went from 8 to 10+ but the 8 was amazing until the day I stopped using it. So maybe go for a note9
  9. I have had Sennheiser HD428 (MSRP: 99.00) since like 2012 when I found them in the lost and found at McDonalds. They had been there for months, and on my last day I took em home. The have served me well and sound great. But the cord is short, they're super old and falling apart, and the cord has to be wiggled to get sound out of it. I plug them into Focusrite Scarlet 18i8, it's a beast of a small audio interface. This thing really drives these 428s, but at louder levels I would want to listen to it suffers from great distortion. I'm set on replacing them, but I literally don't know where to start when it comes to what brand I should look at. My use case/requirements: - Content creation, music, streaming, making youtube videos. - Gaming, not a competitive gamer but I prefer to play with headphones - Playing Instruments, I have a guitar and elec. drumset. - Wired is a must, detachable/bluetooth is nice but not needed. - 3.5mm jack (I have adapters) - it does NOT need a mic, I use XLR mics - no console compatibility required My budget is $200 Anyone here looking at a pair in this price range? Has anyone perchased a set for these reasons? Can I really get decent reference headphones for 200 (or less?) Thanks yall
  10. Just as the title says, I'm looking for a good, dual purpose headset. I play drums and guitar as well as game with my current headset. I've had a pair of cheapo sennheiser's since I found them in lost and found in 2011. They sound great, but I'm pretty sure I blew a driver in one side and they're falling apart. Who knows how old they were when I found them. Anyway, I think I would prefer a closed headphone design. My budget is 200 or less, I don't want something wireless unless I can plug it in to reduce latency. I don't want a headset with a mic either, I won't use it. I have a USB DAC I can plug them into or my Scarlet 18i8 interface. What are the brands or product ranges I should even look at? I have never purchased a good over ear set in my life. Thanks :)
  11. If there's going to be a Minecraft server, we need a forum section for it
  12. We've seen Nintendo and Capcom doing some of these for Nvidia, mainly in China or other regions. Square has been overpricing their older games on mobile for a while. But my question is, where are the PS2+ games? Earlier, I was playing GameCube games on my phone with Dolphin. Metroid Prime 1 runs almost perfectly. I can only imagine what a true port would be like. Xbox One S controllers now support Android, same with Android 10 and Switch Pro. Razer is making $100 joycons for 2018 phones. My note 10+ has a bigger screen, and when paired with xbox one s controller, it plays Minecraft and most of my other games better than my switch could. So that leads to my question? Why don't we have Dark Souls Remastered, Final Fantasy X-X2 remastered, Monkey Ball etc on Android? I would pay big money for these games natively on my phone. Until then, I'm steam linking
  13. I love my PC, but sometimes it randomly turns on. Even when the mouse and keyboard are unplugged. I thought it might be because my cat was messing with them, but it still does it. I have had to unplug my LED strips because the lights wake me up :(. I'm running windows 10.
  14. So I built my PC a while back, right now I have 4690k and of course DDR3 RAM. When I build it, DDR4 had just come out, and 1000 series were impossible to get a hold of. I eventually got my hands on 1070 after years of my placeholder 750ti. But with the next gen consoles around the corner, I have no doubt that PC games/ console ports will take advantage of newer hardware. I am fine lowering settings to conform to my GPU. But what I'm worried about is my 4690k, and to a lesser extent, my RAM. Right now I have used my MOBO's built in overclock for a modest over clock and games run fine. Will my CPU be able to handle the next gen of games? Or is time to upgrade? Thanks ahead of time
  15. I have the 10+. I put my phone through hell everyday. Constantly paired with my Gearfit 2 Pro, occasional use of my Galaxy Buds throughout the day, near CONSTANT youtube/music playing with screen off, GPS for navigation (I do delivery driving) for 8 hours a day. I come home with around 50% everyday. I seriously use my phone a lot at work and I am happy with the battery life. My aging Note8 ended my work day at 15% if I was lucky. But the charger in the box is super fast, you can get nearly 20% in 10 mins, I cant wait to get my 45w charger.
  16. I use the Spigen Slim armor case. I have use Spigen since the note 4. I got the Ultra Hybrid S first, but the kickstand fell off in less than a week, and I didn't like the case. But the Slim Armor is SO GOOD. Plus, Spigen has amazing customer service that has always taken care of me. When I got the Note 7 and it got recalled, I asked them for a discount for a new case, and they sent me one for free! Totally not their problem but they took care of me. Here is what I have: https://www.spigen.com/collections/galaxy-note-10-plus/products/galaxy-note-10-plus-case-slim-armor?variant=12074236477487 Unfornately, they don't have fun colors anymore also I suggest buying them from Amazon because it's much cheaper for some reason. Seriously, this case is awesome, slim, has a kickstand, and I have used it for years on Note 4, 7, 8 and now 10. Yeah I skipped note 5 lol
  17. A nice wireless charging pad would be nice. Lay my Note 10, my Gear Sport and Galaxy buds down on it and only have 1 thing connected to the wall? Sign me up. I alternate between the Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro, including my battery bank and speaker, that's SIX things I need to charge. It would be nice to have 3 of those on the same pad. Still waiting for my 45w charger to become available samsung >_>
  18. you can get a sketchy windows key for 10 and under on ebay. I bought one for like $6.70 on ebay 3 years ago. and if it gets revoked, that's fine. I'm okay with possibly paying $2 a year for windows. You can also save a little money by looking for a case that includes fans.
  19. Right click sound icon in task bar Sound settings> In that window, under related settings Sound control panel make sure your playback devices is 1. enabled and 2. set as default
  20. If you have a PC, then all the xbox exclusives worth playing are on that. PS4 simply has way better options. I just sold my PS4pro tho, I am now waiting for PS5 and I'll play my backlog there... KH3, TLoU, God of War, Uncharted 3/4.. I basically only played Bloodborne when I got a ps4 lmao
  21. Click the sound icon in the lower right of the task bar, then click the 'device name' about the volume bar and try to reselect your desired output device. If it doesnt show up, right click that sound icon Speaker Setup>Advanced Setup> playback devices tab and make sure your device is enabled.
  22. Story time! So back in the day, my friend and I were dabbling in game development using Macromedia Flash MX. We loved flash games. We wanted to make one like Megaman X. Our idea was just like megaman, but it was called Bleak. It was about colors. Basically, a scientist was making a gun/backpack device to harness the power of colors. But the machine malfunctioned and sucked all color from the area, turn the scientist evil (think Glover). It turned everything monochrome, and it was up to the protagonist (never named) to restore color to the world. The game was divided into 8 'robot master' levels, each representing a different color. Once each master was defeated, you'd gain their power/color. Unlike megaman, more like MNo9, the powers weren't simply guns, but new weapons/transformations. Example, purple was sword weapon, red was hands/fist combat with combos that added platforming abilities (like guacamelee). Not only would you gain powers, but defeating a master would restore their respective colors to other levels, opening new paths and secrets. There was also to be a mechanic to use the weapons themselves to open paths. Instead of 'light capsules' like MMX, you could use certain abilities from robot masters by equipping them permanently, which you could swap between levels. The game was ambitious, and we designed all the bosses, and characters. The farthest we got was making an animated character that could run around and shoot. We had no idea how we were going to make a flash game of this scale, but we were encouraged by the progress we were making. I knew enough action script to make enemies, health bars, platforming/shooting elements as well as level transitions. But little more than that. The gameplay was to be fast paced, heavily inspired by Megaman Zero games for GBA, we wanted a true combo system with style rating akin to switching weapons like Dante from DMC4, but in 2D. But alas, after a year of off and on work, I moved away and we never began work on this game. What made me even think of it was trying to find the old files. Unfortunately, the harddrive the files are on was dead. I would have posted them here if I could recover them. /Story Time. I should have kickstarted it lol, but I was 14 at the time and I didn't know what I was doing. I have never shared the ideas anywhere, but I wanted to share after all this time. It was so close to what MNo9 wanted to achieve I find it odd that the games have so many similarities. What do you think? would you have played Bleak? Does the almost metroidvania style of backtracking with in depth combat in Megaman X style gameplay sound interesting? It was exactly the kind of game I wanted to play.
  23. Now we're being pedantic. Of course it comes down to using the muscles. I feel that gaming is the most common use for this particular muscle (set of muscles?) That's why I said gamer.
  24. Lots of carrying cases have slots for cartridges, so I can always carry 10 in the case, and 1 in my switch. I buy smaller games digital, but I love the look of cartridges and their cases. I hate discs, so on ps4 it's all digital unless it's like KH3 and I got deluxe edition. I think switch is unique due to the cartridges, kinda nostalgic for me, reminds me of gba.
  25. True, but I find that non gamers aren't as pronounced.
