  1. Except that time when Intel did sue AMD in 1990ish over names. And lost
  2. you explicitly stated it again, you don't get complain about the state of AAA pc gaming (big pubs) while at the same time condemning the only other option.
  3. it isn't a straw man argument, you can't say "well indies/crowdfunded titles should be AAA grade" and then trn around and say "why doesn't someone make a game for PC that's good". in doing the first statement you lock yourself out of a massive group of devs that would gladly deliver that pc experience but hey, they can't make it because you have some an irrational reason (time to release) barring them from doing so. you don't get to have your cake and eat it too. plus why do you care so much how long it takes a crowdfunded game to complete? oh no, a crowdfunded game took 5-7 years to make! what difference does it make? the argument you've made in previous threads on SC of "well they could have made X number of smaller games" is also completely irrational as Chris Roberts created CIG specifically to make SC, not a dozen greenlight games for early access on steam. so again, what logical reason is there to say "they shouldn't try this"?
  4. wait, so you are ok with youtube bait pos greenlight games and big publishers continually screwing over pc users but can't stand the idea of someone making a pc exclusive title designed to show of the power of the pc for the sole fact that it's crowd funded?
  5. there's actually a massive bandwagon everywhere you go that continues to bitch about the "length" of development. what these ignorants don't know is that CIG had to build their ENTIRE development studio from the ground up starting in 2012 where as your favorite yearly installment of *insert generic semi-open world game possibly with towers to climb here* is that those are spread over 3 or more dev studios and backed by a publisher that pulls in 5x in a year what CIG has in 3. Fallout 4 and GTA V took 7 years to develop, no one complains, SC in it's 3rd year and you'd think CIG had murder someone's baby.
  6. no it isn't, the batteries on those planes have been through excessive amounts of testing and have extremely tight tolerances in respect to material quality and build quality. the shitty little hoverboard battery is made as cheaply as possible and has been documented to easily catch fire. and iirc they aren't even the same type of battery.
  7. you realize that that declaration holds no water at all right? it literally means nothing.
  8. I bet (need to check) Maryland Heights isn't getting this either, ATT still has a lot of MH at the 10Mbps while Charter has it at 100 Mbps, like wtf ATT.
  9. it's a shitpost because it has nothing to do with AMD since AMD and GloFo separated like a year ago.
  10. Vtech actually sells a TON of those electronic learning tablets. Used to work for Target in Electronics (and by proximity Toys) and can tell you those things go off the shelves as soon as you get them during Christmas season.
  11. it's nothing close to a 290x, a 270 has ~10% more stream processors than a PS4 does for crying out loud. and while not a GCN card, an HD6850 has the same number of stream processors as an XB1 iirc. these consoles are not powerful in any respect..
  12. It wasn't a full on ban as ~70% of all privately owned firearms in AUS prior to the "ban" are still owned by private citizens there. but yeah since that law passed they've had a few shootings, their crime rate has gone up and there has been hostage situations popping up from what I've read (unknown what the situation was like prior though). OT: law is dumb. do we really want thought policing?
  13. wish the Asus Freesync monitor was of actual quality. so many reports of it either being DOA, backlight bleed, dead pixels etc in reviews. I'm going to be getting the Benq 1440p Freesync monitor, 30-144 Hz FS range to boot.
