  1. EVGA are giving me another RMA so I'll try these if the same problem comes up
  2. hm I did consider that but I dismissed it after the crashes stopped altogether with my old card. I'll look into it tho, thanks Edit: Oh it's actually fine, thanks @19_blackie_73
  3. I can't for the life of me work this out or find it on forums and I'm getting nothing from EVGA. I installed a brand new EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SSC ACX 3.0 but it would cause crashes on the computer I had at the time, and now on my new computer too: The mouse just stops moving and sound stops playing. No visual or audio artefacts. There is no blue screen, and it doesn't reboot, it just literally freezes and does nothing indefinitely, with the last window contents staying on the monitor. Sometimes (~20% of the time, but rarely lately) the GPU fans ramp to full speed indefinitely. The crashes don't seem to be related to workload at all. I don't play games, so pretty much 100% of the time, my computer is only running around 5-10 windows of the following: Chrome, File Explorer, Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe Reader, MPC-BE. But crashes have sometimes happened with no windows open whatsoever. This would happen about every 20 minutes (only counting time while using the computer - see last dot point below), but it could be as soon as 5 minutes or less after restarting There are some weird patterns: The crashes always happened when the mouse was moving. I don't remember a crash where I was either away from the computer/doing something else at my desk, and then couldn't move the mouse because of a crash. Like 80% of the crashes happened in the 5 minutes after I returned to my computer after not using it for some time. So I RMA'd it but the replacement does the same thing!!!! I've tried updating and reinstalling graphics drivers. Note that this product has no PSU cable - it takes all its power from the slot. My old graphics card which I've been using in the meantime is an ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II OC (which has 8 pin power). The combination of hardware which works and doesn't makes me think that the problem is to do with the on-card power management. But I've had it with two iterations of the product so I'm confused as to why no-one including EVGA knows what's up or how to fix it. Does anyone know if these cards without PSU cables are particularly prone to power problems, especially given this card is factory overclocked? Any geniuses out there who knows what's happening? 4. I'm getting some artifacting in videos that aren't present in the 1440p monitor Does anyone know what's up?
  5. I just got an LG 31MU97 and want to run it 4096x2160@60 Hz plus my old monitor (Kogan 27" Cinema Display) at 2560x1440@60 Hz. I have a GTX 760 to run it. I won't be gaming. According to NVIDIA, it can run 4096x2160@60 Hz over DisplayPort, which I have successfully tested with only the LG connected. However, when I connect the Kogan over DVI, the LG defaults to 3840x2160@30 Hz and the Kogan runs at 2560x1440@60 Hz. Playing around with custom resolutions in NVIDIA Control Panel, I was able to achieve 4096x2160@51 Hz + 2560x1440@60 Hz. Is there something wrong with my setup? Should my GPU be able to run 4096x2160@60 Hz + 2560x1440@60 Hz, or is there some sort of bandwidth limitation, even though both resolutions are below the GPU's max? If there is a bandwidth limitation, how would you quantify it? Would a GTX 1050 Ti be able to do what I want? Thanks

  7. This is another interesting case from the same forum with about the same volume and compatibility. But it's further from release than A4

  9. Personally, I don't like 'Cool ideas. Great videos' I think it would be better without a slogan since no one gains from it. It's obvious that the channel aspires to make good videos, and it's not and probably won't become a distinctive slogan to the channel. Otherwise it's great
  10. The ASUS STRIX TACTIC PRO - a mechanical keyboard with 21 macros (to evaluate possible productivity gains using all those macros)
  11. Size: Full Layout: US Switch: Clicky Backlight: White (including RGB and other multi-color backlighting) Macros: At least 5 that are customisable and clicky (like M1-5 on the Razer BlackWidow Chroma) Nothing else matters So far I have found: Razer BlackWidow Chroma CM Storm Mech Edit: More criteria added
  12. Happy Holidays! I'm planning an ultra small build, which is currently going to be Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Impact CPU: Intel Core i7-4771 RAM: G.Skill F3-2400C10D-8GTX GPU: Asus GTX 970 DirectCU Mini OC Storage: SanDisk Extreme II 240 GB Case: Jonsbo V3+ (also known as Rosewill Legacy V3 Plus, DIYPC V3Plus or Cooltek Coolcube) Case fans: 4x Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX (on the back as intakes) PSU: Silverstone SX600-G CPU cooler: Noctua NH-L12 (bottom fan only) I already have the bolded components in my current (too-large) PC, so the idea is to transfer those plus the new components into the smaller case. My main question to you guys is about cooling. I mainly use my PC for university, with the most demanding things during semester probably being getting MATLAB to solve a ~15 minute equation or watching 1440p 60 fps video and Youtube through SVP. Also, I may play GTA V on the weekends in 1440p when it comes out. Do you think the combination of components and cooling will be alright? Some things to remember to consider are Maxwell's efficiency the extra space in the case for airflow afforded by the use of an SFX PSU and the included flat power cables compared to using an ATX one as it was designed for if I get this I'll run it upside down (I don't care about aesthetics) so the face that the GPU will be drawing cool air from (the 'bottom', which will become the top) is more open, as opposed to being right next to the floor the case usually runs in a pretty open space with reasonable airflow I live in Sydney Australia where the ambient temperature ranges from ~15C in winter to >30C in summer A future consideration is that when Intel Z170 comes out, I'll be looking to replace the 2.5" SSD with an M2, freeing up more space due to removing SATA and power cables and the drive itself. What about the cooling then? Thanks! Edit: added emphasis
