  1. Except that the car would most likely still start and drive normally, you'd simply be less protected in case of an accident. This is more like "we fixed an issue with the airbag, but because of your Pioneer system the car now won't start" ----- I'm a bit torn on this one. Normally I'd refer to Torvalds' first rule of kernel maintenance ("you do not break userspace"), but with AV companies not following Microsoft's guidelines I'm giving MS a pass on this one. Besides, 3rd party antivirus is one big scam anyway and does little more than to ADD extra vulnerabilities for attackers to exploit.

Dirty PSU cable. Dirt or corrosion?

As the others mentioned, some alcohol will make quick work of that. If you've got an old toothbrush laying around, that would make it easier to get between and inside the individual contacts.

    Windows 10 vulnerability?

Ah, ok. Yeah, then it's worded VERY poorly indeed.

    Windows 10 vulnerability?

Every month they patch dozens of serious vulnerabilities. So that's nothing special. Also : As long as you don't invite the hacker into your house and have remote access disabled, I wouldn't worry too much.

Galaxy A80 revealed - up, down, round and around

Just looked up the S10+ for reference. The 128GB model is $999 in the US ... and 999€ here. So EUR to USD is actually pretty much 1/1

Ideal fan configuration for Meshify C

You want positive pressure, not negative. Negative draws dust in from all nooks and crannies, positive blows it away. My default setup for a Define C or Meshify C is dual 140mm intakes in the front, a good 120mm exhaust at the back. Even with your hardware that should suffice to keep the temps at acceptable levels. If it's really necessary you can add a fan in the top, near the rear of the case. However I haven't needed to do that yet. Then again the most I've crammed into my Define C was an overclocked 5930K and dual 1070s. Money seems to be no object, so I'm going straight to some of the best: 2x Noctua Chromax NF-A14 PWM (https://noctua.at/en/nf-a14-pwm-chromax-black-swap) 1x Noctua Chromax NF-S12A PWM (https://noctua.at/en/nf-s12a-pwm-chromax-black-swap) The Meshify C has fairly flexible mounting options. For the front I'd suggest putting both fans in the lowest possible position above the PSU shroud. That will put the upper fan more in line with the CPU cooler and allow the bottom fan to blow all its air to the area below the GPU, maximizing that one's potential to draw in cool air. For the rear I'm using the lowest position too on my own Define C, simply because that also lined up more with my CPU cooler.

    Assange arrested

The indictment shows that the arrest is directly related to Wikileaks. There's tons of Wikileaks-related topics (including Manning's conviction for the same crimes) in the tech news section. Are you going to move this one back or are you going to move all the others to off-topic as well?

    Wich of theese ssd

Personally I'd go with the Crucial. No particular reason, I simply have more faith in their reliability.

    Assange arrested

Probably as much evidence as there was of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction.

    Assange arrested

According to the indictment he actively helped Manning to crack a DOD PC that she didn't have the password to. See point 7 to 10 of the original paper that I linked in my previous post. (bottom half of page 2 - top half of page 3)

USB to SATA adapter vs Enclosure

Those 2.5" drives use 5V, only 3.5" ones use 12V. The reason why the USB 2.0 one has 2 USB plugs is because a single USB 2.0 port doesn't provide the necessary current (amperage) to power the drive. All the other ones are USB 3.0, and those ports do provide enough current. That's why you only need a single plug for those. Also USB 3.0 enclosures/adapters will allow you to transfer data much faster than USB 2.0 ones. So I'd remove the first one from your shortlist right away. If you are going to use that external drive on a regular basis, I'd suggest an enclosure. Adapters are good for when you're always messing around with different HDDs and need something to quickly plug them in to, but do little to protect the drive from dust etc. Which one you choose is entirely up to you.

    Assange arrested

EDIT : Here's the full indictment of what they are currently charging him with : https://www.justice.gov/usao-edva/press-release/file/1153481/download Basically the charge is "conspiracy to commit computer intrusion", although that may change once he arrives in the US. The fact that he is not a US citizen and wasn't on US soil when committing these crimes doesn't matter to the US, all that matters is that they are the victims of said crimes. At least that's their reasoning.

I don't have to be closed in a building for that.

    Assange arrested

Looks like he was indeed arrested at the request of the US with the intention of extraditing him. http://news.met.police.uk/news/update-arrest-of-julian-assange-365565 OP edited.

    Assange arrested

Australia Oh and he has dual citizenship IIRC. Australia and Equador (since 2017).

    Assange arrested

I wouldn't go that far. I personally don't like the guy's attitude and some of the stuff Wikileaks has done was outright reckless. However Wikileaks did uncover some serious war crimes that the US government tried to sweep under the rug. He also managed to get Snowden out of Hongkong whilst being stuck in the embassy himself.
  17. Welp, Assange has been arrested ...

      Not really surprising

  18. That's all kinds of messed up. I could understand if it would be automated requests based on trigger words, but with several agencies involved that seems unlikely.

    I'm impatient as fuck

5x the endurance is an irrelevant number for consumers, and most likely incorrect too. Irrelevant because most people tend to write less than 10GB/day to their drives. At that rate modern SSDs will outlive their owners. Incorrect because Intel drives tend to pull the trigger on themselves once Intel's own monitoring software decides that it doesn't trust the NAND anymore. Samsung just keeps error correcting and moving data around to avoid bad blocks. In 2015 Techreport did an endurance test on several SSDs. The 250GB Intel 355 bricked itself after 700TB, the 250GB 840PRO in the same experiment lasted 2.4 PETAbytes. So the only advantage would be the 4K speeds. But as I said the endurance is irrelevant, so you couldn't have gone wrong with either drive. Anyway, as for waiting : Seeing as the package comes from outside the EU, I wouldn't be surprised if it will be stuck in Customs for a couple of days once it enters Portugal (Customs checks typically happen when a package enters the country of destination).
  20. My main rig has dual boot but is almost exclusively on Windows 7 for now. The secondary rig is currently running Mint and I've set aside plenty of time this summer to experiment with distros, desktop environments and alternatives for the Windows-only software that I regularly use on the main rig. Once I've decided on everything I will switch the main rig over. The laptop has been on Mint for years now. Never had to look for a driver, never had any issues with it either. I do plan to keep a Windows 7 install or VM, just in case I ever really need to use Windows for some reason. But I will not be connecting that one to the internet.

Microsoft Should be VERY Afraid of Linux Gaming

Because you want a system that doesn't go FUBAR every other Patch Tuesday? Or because you want something that runs on older or low-end hardware? Or because you are fed up with constantly having to set up everything how you want it, only to have Microsoft change the settings with every update and reinstall stuff that you really don't want? on topic : if this is the kind of videos that we get whenever Linus is not around, I'd suggest firing Linus instead of Jake.

    Show off your latest purchase!

Klipsch R-41PM speakers + Klipsch R-8SW subwoofer. Bit of an upgrade from my Bose Companion 5 speakers. I wanted to go 1 step up for both the speakers and the sub (R-51PM and R-10SW), but I got a killer deal on this particular combo that I couldn't get on the larger ones. Can't comment on the sound quality yet, the speakers still need to be broken in and I currently have an ear infection so everything sounds muffled. Oh, and I can't hook up the sub yet because neither the speakers or the sub came with the cable that connects them. Also on order : I'm not going to be properly cable managing these speakers for now (or removing the Bose ones from my desk, for that matter). I'll probably get me one of those electric sit-stand desks in the next couple of weeks. Not going to waste 20 minutes messing with cable management now only to take it all apart again in a couple of weeks. I'll probably post new pics of my complete setup once everything is here and set up properly.

    Cable Management?

You could always look for a cable management box (also referred to as "cable cubby" sometimes). Try to route all your cables downwards cleanly, then you can tuck the excess lengths in the box. I posted 2 pics of white ones, but you can get them in all colours to suit your interior.

Does this mobo allow any OC on non-k sb?

The i7-2600 will indeed go to 4.2 on stock voltage. As for overclocking on P67 motherboards, I only have experience with the Gigabyte P67A-UD3 and had no issues overclocking on that one.
