  1. I find it funny they say they don't want to profit off hate speech but are planning on donating other people's money to charity on their behalf. So it makes me wonder are all these charity donations tax deductible and will Google be trying to use them to reduce the amount of taxes they pay? If so wouldn't that also be a version of profiting? Also as others have pointed out the don't specify what charity it goes to. For all we know it could be a charity run by Google themselves with a 99% admin cost thus allowing them to pocket 99% of the "donation" and also claim it as a tax deduction. This whole this just seems wrong to me on so many levels and without more information it is hard to judge what Google's true intent ultimately is, but in the end I am not sure Google's intentions matter when they are stealing money from one person and giving it to another.
  2. Don't forget a lot of retailers will sell returned unbroken items as open box at a small discount. So they aren't really selling it as new or used but something in between.
  3. The other thing that many people are failing to point out (or maybe it doesn't matter to them) is that without a 3.5mm jack you won't be able to charge your phone and use headphones at the same time. Unless they have some type of splitter.
  4. The problem is not that they won't rule in favor of net neutrality, which I believe they will. The problem is that the the Supreme Court is one member short right now and iirc unless the full court hears the case it doesn't set precedent that is legally binding on lower courts in future cases.
  5. The only 980ti I found on their site at $399 is the MSI golden edition. All the other 980ti's are $500 and up. (I think I might have seen one around $480).
  6. My guess is there won't be graphics options like pc. It will simply detect which console version you have and automatically give you the appropriate settings. (i.e. Higher Frame rates and/or graphics if you have ps4 neo.)
  7. The point is the same as overpriced apple products. It's for people who can't be bothered to learn about pc hardware and how to build a pc. It's basically for people who want to plug something in and have it work out of the box.
  8. The problem is not Ocuius protecting their investment. It's that Palmer lucky has stated that their software would be hardware agnostic, which is clearly not true.
  9. Yes but the lightning and classified cards will have custom pcb's and coolers potentially allowing higher over clocks. So even if they are the same price they will be a better card for the money.
  10. Well by this time next year I should hopefully have Google fiber so hopefully with as long as these transitions tend to take it won't really effect me.
  11. That's my thought as well. After reading the article it just seems very convenient that they found an undisclosed third party to magically open a phone they said was impossible to open a week before they go to court. Especially when it appeared as if this case was probably going to end up in the Supreme Court.
  12. IIRC it's supposed to be sometime in July.
  13. I am kind of torn on this. I mean wikileaks has done some good things by exposing government corruption, but to put information on a private company up on their website to me is crossing a line.
  14. I think they meant competition is bad for their wallet.
  15. The problem is not DLC in general, it's day one DLC that is the biggest problem. If a company wants to add more to the game after it is already out and charge for I think that is ok. i don't think it's ok to take part of the game on day one and charge extra money for it.
