If you are assembling on the bed, make sure to have your 'live strong' bracelet on to prevent static discharge.

Dude!  Sick completion of a build.  Been following this post and waiting for that final reveal.  Looks great.

As always, don't forget to do a final thermal testing/sound test!

Any idea on what the rest of the spec will be? Cooling is always the limiting factor on builds like this, you'll only be using a relatively shallow CPU cooler I'm guessing, like a Noctua NH L12. Personally I'd go for a slightly smaller form factor GPU, and use an internal AC-DC converter brick. I hate having to lug around an external one, even though I did end up swapping to a smaller unit, it's still a pain because you have to find somewhere nearby to set it down.

I've been working with the IT department at work and they let me take a 130w brick from their spares. It's juuuust enough to power the DC if it were under theoretical max load. The previous brick was 230w and frankly pretty excessive.

Well, that's a first for me; buying a graphics card then immediately putting a drillbit through it.

    But hey, it still works

Yeah the 750 was only ever meant as a mock up card, but stuck around for way longer than expected.

One of the mounting holes needs adjustment, and one needs a drillbit 🤷🏻‍♂️ but otherwise it fits in the case in the exact same position and height as the 750.

A few more fins needed to be clearance at the back of the cooler, but hopefully this shouldn't significantly effect cooling. I'd liked to have made the cuts tidier, but the shocking of the dremel actually snapped one of the aluminium arms off, so I decided it would be best to leave them 😬😬

The 1650 shroud needs a little modification to fit, the fan opening isn't quite as perfect of a fit as the 750 shroud, so that's going back on for now. It's a sleeper gpu

That's one hell of a performance increase you're getting there. Would be intersting to see how the temps are affected.
The standard 750 didn't even make it on the list

Ordered 3950X about a month ago, but the parts finally started shipping not long ago. Still waiting on ram so still using my old 3200 C16 kit from the last build.

tldr. Log is acting weird, but WU's seem to get done and accepted. Points aren't being awarded properly, but is an issue w. F@H servers.

So I've dug in my log a little bit, since the missing points updating was bothering me a little bit, and I needed a sanity check. I left my main rig folding for 24 hours at full tilt, with an occasional gaming break once in a while. I then extracted the log, and found all the lines with "Final Credit estimate".

I found out that several of the lines with final credit estimate was present multiple times. I don't know if this is an issue, but I am not too concerned since the timestamps are identical, so I assume its just en error in the log generation. However if I remove all the duplicates, and add the points together I should have made 653454.00, plus whatever my server with a 6 core CPU slot crunch out (a rough estimate would be 10-20,000)over the last 24 hours. So in total ~670k points. Not overly impressive I know, but still a fair bit.

In the meantime EOC has registered a total of 288,167 points in total. So in actuality less than half of whats expected.
I can only assume that I am not the only one with issues of points updating. And I can see on the F@H forums, it is something they are aware of. Apparently the points won't get awarded until the work from the collection server has been send along to another server. Since the servers stall all the time, alot of completed and unawarded WU's get stuck, until they get it fixed. So they should turn up eventually, with full QRB.

My point is (no pun intended), that I'll of course keep folding, even though admittedly it takes some of the fun out, to be honest. But the real prize at the end of the road is of course not the points, but the incredible contribution to science, we all are helping with.
To all the newbies like myself, you're not crazy, the points sometimes don't update. It can take some time before you'll get them, but eventually you'll get em. See it as a staggered RPG attack, with burn/poison damage over time 🤓
To the veterans, is there something else I could check for in the log, to make sure nothing is wrong in my end? As I said I'm not too concerned with the multiple identical entries in my log. But could it actually point to some issue with my F@H installation?

Who needs to use ports anyway

For now I've cut holes for necessary ports only; the motherboard power plug, the hdmi, and USB ports. I need to find a neat way of doing the rest

    Brief update:

Been waiting on the feet to arrive so I can continue mocking up the chassis. Kinda stuck for the time being without them. The Ryzen 2700X is on-route and should be here within a week.

Our dishwasher decided to die (it's only 4 years old, but of course, out of warranty), so we've had to buy a new one. That's put a hold on funds for obtaining the SSD, PSU and wood for the final build... Sucks, but such is life.

    The big swing-hinges arrived!!!

Packaging was atrocious, but everything was there and [mostly] undamaged. Might need a fresh coat of paint to hide some scratches, but meh.
The strength of the gas shocks are perfect for the weight of the side panels, so I think these will work great. They don't quite stay in the closed position, so I might have to use magnets or something to keep them closed.

My PC room was in quite a state of disarray and there was barely any space to work. Was making me twitchy, so before going any further, had to tidy everything up. All good now.

Right in the childhood eh  Still waiting for a straight remaster, the handling is better than I remember too. The bodykits are worse though...?

I'll add some pictures from the build...promise!
