  1. Does typing "sudo ifconfig" into a terminal return anything?
  2. No problem, I wasn't sure of your experience. Did it work?
  3. Did you CD to the directory you are in? i.e "cd /home/yourusername/Desktop" then run the command?
  4. Then use apt-get to install from a package using the required switch.
  5. You can download from here on a windows machine: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=r8168-dkms
  6. Because the Ryzen architecture is much newer, came out this year in fact while the FX-8350 is based on a very old architecture and would be a very poor choice at this moment in time. As said above, the IPC is massively different and you cannot compare based on numbers alone, doesn't give you the full picture. Edit: Sorry just to clarify, that processor came out this year is what I meant.
  7. The latest update says "they do not have a fixed date set as of yet". I'm not saying they backtracked on an extension that they didn't get (sorry if it seemed that way), I was just pointing out that that is why there is hard deadlines set, because if Google had granted MS the deadline to March 13th, and 3 days later MS says "Yeah you know that extension we asked for that you gave us....gonna need a little bit longer".
  8. See the link here: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=1435#c6 The comment from 2/3 days ago is: MSRC reached out to me to to clarify that, because of the complexity of the fix, they do not yet have a fixed date set as of yet. So seems that they backtracked again on meeting the deadline that they asked for, March 13th, how many times do you let them keep extending the deadline?
  9. Yeah we didn't expect it to do that!!! We just thought it would soft restart the iPhone and then crash messenger after that but its actually factory reset his phone and he lost photos! I've just seen other people on Reddit saying their phones got completely bricked and wouldn't come back on at all, Apple had to replace it! Thats a crazy crazy crazy bug!
  10. Holy crap. My friend just did this to someone and it put the phone into a boot loop for 20+ minutes then when the phone eventually came on it was factory reset and was sitting at the "Hello" screen
  11. There is almost definitely a better way to do this, and I don't know how "big" a project this will end up being but you could do something like this (assuming you have full access to the whole server): Create your basic layout etc for the website Use a cronjob to "capture" the image you need, as often as you like and save it to your web directory. Use a simple AJAX/Javascript function to reload the "image" portion of the site every couple of seconds. By reloading only the image, it give the appearance of dynamically updating without a full page refresh. Like I say, probably a better way to do this, but it would be super simple like you say! Then for the usernames, store information in a MySQL or similar database, with the correct hashing and salting. Pretty standard. IP tracking could also be done in a database theoretically.
  12. I agree, I think its a good thing. IMO, its fair enough if you have the money for it and you are willing to take that risk with your own money, but you shouldn't be allowed to use someone elses to do it. There are far too many people out there who just can't be trusted with money.
  13. Right, so you are saying that anyone could put your card into a card reader and magically have all your card information? So you are saying putting in your pin number is a pointless exercise because the machine clearly doesn't require it to do its job?
  14. I'm guessing you've never worked with chip and pin and tried to read them then? Otherwise you wouldn't think that, clearly it is not that easy.
  15. Indeed, really surprising to see the US so far behind in this regard! Or maybe its not but seems like it to me haha!
  16. I don't remember the last time I saw magnetic being used in the UK, we've been chip and pin for 11 years now in the UK.
  17. I just looked it up, its only been available in the UK since May of 2017...Apple Pay and Android Pay obviously have been around a lot longer.. So it didn't simply work.
  18. I would have to disagree, at least here in the UK every place that I've personally been to (that I can recall) that supports Apple Pay also support Android Pay. I've never seen an Apple Pay only system. Pretty much every place here has it, even small local shops. I've never seen Samsung Pay advertised (not saying it isn't supported) I agree, never seen Samsung Pay advertised, whether its supported or not is a different question!
  19. Just to add incase you hadn't noticed (sorry if you have) or for anyone else, if you are running MR33s, MR30Hs, or MR74s then you must update to 25.7, 24.11 will not cover you for those models.
  20. Yeah I second that, just was checking ours this minute as well!
  21. Its very simple to discover MAC addresses of devices connected to an AP, even when you are not connected.
  22. 100% agree, the industry as a whole needs to stop this fake marketing crap and misleading consumers who don't know better and are just looking for a product to do what it is "advertised" as doing. I do know TV enthusiasts who want to get the best possible image from TV's and are willing to pay thousands to get it, so I do think it is important there also.
