  1. What will the server be used for? Just storage, or anything else?
  2. Look for decomissioned second hand CPUs and Mobos on Google. You'll get the most amount of performance that way.
  3. Really... it isn't that hard to just avoid dropping your phone...
  4. I would love to switch to Linux and never ever use Windows again. I really hope that Vulkan becomes a thing.
  5. I have. I even reinstalled Windows since then. This is happening since 1.5 years.
  6. What a nonsense, mobile is the one place where ad blocking is needed. AdBlock is not the bad guy. If ads weren't obnoxious, AdBlock would've never become a thing.
  7. Been using two R9 290s to play Skyrim for a while and haven't had any problems.
  8. Yes, but only marginally. One would just have to wait an extra minute or two with the 4460 and, unless one is going to do massive amounts of video editing as a full time job, the 8320 is not really worth buying over the 4460.
  9. Well, amazon.de is the German Amazon, so yes. Of course it's reliable. Now if that specific seller is, you can't tell, since that item hasn't been rated yet. But Amazon will refund you if you are sent something that doesn't work, so don't worry.
  10. But it is not as good as other Linux based server OSs. Unless you need to run a specific software that only supports Windows, you'd be better off going with a Linux OS instead.
  11. But I did change the Google account settings already. English is set as my language. The issue is that all of the content I consume is in English; the websites I visit, the Twitch channels I follow, the Youtube videos I watch, etcetera. But the websites display themselves in Spanish, so I have the same website in two languages at a time, Youtube displays all the Spanish videos I don't give a fuck about, and Twitch.tv directs me to all the boring Spanish streams I don't want to watch. Trying to navigate trough content gets extremely irritating and frustrating. No tiene nada de malo el contenido en Español, pero es que no es lo que yo quiero.
  12. This is an issue with Google and Chrome. It does not happen on other browsers.
  13. All the websites I visit display the Spanish version by default. I changed all the settings on Google and on Chrome, but nothing. I did use to live in Spain and I did create my Google account there, but this was well over a year ago, and I changed all the setting as soon as I moved. I even got a new PC since then. But it still persists. And Youtube still defaults its location to Spain as well. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks
  14. Pcpartpicker is a website that allows you to create a list of hardware, tells you if said hardware is compatible, and also tells you where to buy it and what the prices are.
  15. Psh. I have a Canon printer/scanner that won't let you scan anything because the ink is has run out.
  16. A transparent smarthpone would degrade the quality of the image on its display. It would make pictures and text not nice to look at, since you would always have other random stuff shining trough the background and blending into whatever you're looking at.
  17. Are you for real? A circuit board and a bomb don't share the similitude of a fake and a real pistol. And they should also arrest everyone who owns a cellphone, since those are a very common way of detonating bombs. /s
  18. Then stop bragging and just make a goddamn tech museum already.
  19. CPU: Don't touch the top or the bottom. Always hold it by the edges CPU cooler: don't touch the metal plate that makes contact with the CPU. Mobo: Don't touch the CPU socket or nudge the capacitors (the small cylindrical things coming out of it). Try to always hold it by the edges. If you have the CPU and its cooler installed, lift the motherboard by the heatsync. RAM: If the PCB is exposed, hold it by the edges and don't touch the PCB. If it's covered by a heat spreader, try to hold it by the edges; if you can't, don't apply pressure to it. Also, don't touch the metal pins at the bottom. HDD: don't shake it, don't bump it into anything and always put it down carefully. SSD: Don't bite it. Expansion cards (graphics card): don't touch the metal pins. If pcb is exposed, don't touch it. PSU: Make sure the power cord from the wall is removed before messing with any connectors.
  20. I moved to Austria last week and didn't pack my hardware properly. One of my two R9 290s got killed during transport. I'm so sad...
