  1. Past hour
  2. An 8700k is still fine for current stuff, the first gen to get out of quadcore hell. Should pair fine with its era high end and modern equivalents. So a 1080ti or Vega 64. That would like an RTX 3060/4060 or RX 6600 XT or 7600 tier GPU today. The A770 I wouldn’t recommend on coffee lake due to the lack of consistent resizable bar. If your board supports resizable bar, it’s on the table though.
  3. We also have a network switch plugged into the router but I have no clue how it works or if there's any settings I can access about it
  4. @starsmine 1.) The $3758 is probably MSRP or some internal price + diagnostic or what not. As such this is significantly above market rates. 2.) Asus is basically telling the customer we will scrap the card and you pay for a new GPU as we don't repair anything here. Compare this to EVGAs repair centre:
  5. Which resolution? 1080p? 1440p? RTX 3060 12GB for 1080p, maybe a 4060. 1440p - RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti
  6. Ethernet cables are able to support the speeds
  7. I haven't done many checks but whenever I'm using ethernet even on the router directly its usually around 50-70mbps
  8. and where is that? I can't help if I don't know the store... link it.
  9. Yes I have noticed a consistent positive impact of the overall performance, the default channels was on the same as everyone else in the area. Is there anything I can do about the congestion? Most of the walls being a sponge I understand can't do much about that but is there anything I can do to help the flow of the WiFi signal?
  10. Keyboards don't make you a better gamer. Mechanical keyboards are inherently better than rubber membrane keyboards due to the ability to press down several keys (N-key rollover). 100%, TKL, 75%, 65%, 60% don't matter. The switch type kind of matters - if you're doing a lot of repeated button presses, you're recommended to get Linear mechanical switches. Specifically for gaming, you can get "speed" switches that have a shorter travel distance which means faster actuation. $50 is not a good budget for a mechanical keyboard. Just stick with what you have right now.
  11. If you really just need a keyboard to play games and have no other preferences or uses for it, just go with whatever keyboard comes with your PC. Invest the 50$ in some games or save it for some other purchase later.
  12. Oh damn that's the first time I seen wood implemented into a PC case, I really like the look! Might get it for myself in the future >:)
  13. 54c is not that hot for a GPU at all. My A770 sits around that on idle as well. For a comparison my Tesla C2050, a fermi house fire, tends to idle at 70c and runs at 110c under load. With new paste and pads. Arc idles with high power consumption, and has a higher idle temperature as a result. But you’re still only peaking at 70c, that’s fine.
  14. I would involve Police/UPS asap before the store video is deleted. Those recordings only stay for so long. And make specifically sure this is being done. Don't rely on Police actually getting the video before in 4 months when it sure is gone. Believe it or not, I recently was a juror on a murder case and the Police department for that case didn't assign a detective for some weeks. And that detective never ever went to the motel it happened and only asked about the motel video tapes many months later when they were gone. I suspect your Newegg case will not get the A-team from the Police. Do NOT rely on the Police to be thorough!
  15. Yes I think the firesticks use a fair bit of bandwidth but I don't know why I'll take a look when I'm home.
  16. Hey i was just wondering is I should buy a new GPU or water cool my current GPU My current GPU ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4060 OC White Edition 8GB GDDR6
  17. You have 2 fans reporting PWM speed. Try disconnecting the wire for "Fan B tach" and see how the motherboard reacts. I have a gut feeling the latch only detects the size of the connector. If a lever is pushed, it knows it's a 4 pin, if that lever isn't pushed then the connector must be smaller and therefore a 3 pin.
  18. Is this a fact? What is all the fuss about NVMe then?
  19. I got mine for free it is a mechanical AT-101W with Alpine Black switches, so you have that option to look for ones which are going to be trashed. It is all I really need.
  20. because the quizzes don't matter, every time you go to that page, they show ads. Those ads pay for rice, the quizzes are just a reason for schools to get students onto the site Correction, the quizzes slightly matter when you answer a question, the page refreshes and shows an ad. So if you ever decide to use the site, turn off adblocker
  21. the type of test does not matter
  22. Can you clarify what you mean by: " doesn't go above 50-60mbps at all times" - are you saying it doesn't go above 50-60 whatsoever, or doesn't go above 50-60 very often? Just want to make sure I understand the info you've provided.
  23. This may be the difference (from the manual): Your CPU adapter must be triggering the special latch, hence it works in PWM mode. All other headers are standard, and auto-detection must be based on the number of attached wires (4=PWM, less than 4 = DC). Sucks to not have a manual option, only auto.
