if you are getting new fans, i would go with the lian li reverse blades so your intake can look cool without the brackets showing.
-
What are your specs and where you? If you need help picking out a PSU, we can help with that info.
-
dual chiplet AM5 is janky anyway, might aswell run it from fresh from the start
-
your case seems to be cluttered up make sure you got good thermal paste. that cooler looks like it needs another fan. do better cable management for better air flows. make sure you got more air going in than coming out. with dust filters you need more fans pushing air in than going out. use cable extensions to help with cable management in the example below, the three top fans and back are exhaust, the rest are pushing in. 6 fans in 4 fans out.

First boot was with stock BIOS setings Windows only tells me it can't repair the install and points me to some log file... No real interest in trying with another drive, a clean install will be easier
-
haha, my 5800x3d is booting off the same drive and windows installed as the fx-8350, i didn't THINK i was losing performance, hold up now im second guessing myself.... Should i reinstall?
-
3 reallocated sectors for a 7 year old drive really isn't a lot, you can still keep using it, just make sure you have a backup of everything important, just like you should have of any other drive
-
-
AM4 -> AM5, remember that it's DDR5 instead of DDR4 too
-
Surface degradation, causing bad sectors is the most common or "normal" way a drive "fails", if that's what your asking. I assume you meaning 8tb, which isn't a lot, and other than the reallocated sector count, this drive seems ok, for now. And yes, you can trust this software.

Q: Why are external GPU enclosures (especially Thunderbolt) so expensive? One must think that they should be very popular with the student population (customer)? Is it true that intel holds some licensing rights, and makes it so prohibitively expensive in order to make consumers think twice and rather buy a new laptop?
-
You did jump to a new socket though. If you were in the same socket but with a new gen then it could've been fine but with a new socket it's rarely highly recommended and if not that then it's necessary to reinstall windows do you have another drive you can try? Maybe try disabling any auto OC settings for RAM or turning off PBO if it's on Was there a code on the blue troubleshooting menu? really? that's strange. I guess it's probably only necessary for going from intel to amd (Since I basically had to do that to get into windows when going from my 10100f to current 5600) Is performance/stability as expected? Performance may be better with an installation of win 10 for the 5500 (installed on the boot drive for it while it's in the system) Either that or a couple of youtubers have lied to me
-
its on and off, i went from a fx-8350 to a 5500 with no problems, same windows 10
-
or you can just go with ek

Toyota as usual is leading the way with "I told ya so" knowing that full BEV isn't ready for primetime. They're doing the math going "not everyone can afford a $75k BEV, but 80% of people drive less than 50 miles a day, they'd really be better with a plug-in hybrid. We can make 1 BEV, 13 PHEV, or 30 classic Prius vehicles, so we'll do the 13 PHEV or 30 Prius vehicles that people will be able to afford" We aren't gonna ditch ICE anytime soon, but we HAVE to ditch fossil fuels if humanity would like to continue existing. Hydrogen combustion is looking good, and Sodium battery tech has been progressing well recently.

Be pickier about the devices you buy. I only buy devices I can unlock and install a custom OS to. All my devices run Lineage, so no need to get used to anything different. Tablet, phones, etc, all the same.

Thanks for the advice, I hot wired the psu and got no response; so I think I'll do as you guys suggested and warranty the unit then sell the replacement. In the mean time I'll get a namebrand psu. Here's to hoping the rest of my components are fine!

Yeah will do that, but I was confident it should have worked as the system only chnage was another AMD CPU, would have made things simpler

VPNs are basically useless as confirmed through testing.
LAwLz replied to ChitterCharmer's topic in Tech News
VPNs are not meant to anonymize you. They never have, and never will. If you want anonymity, use Tor. If your selling point (anonymity) relies on a "trust me bro" policy about not logging then it is not a good service. VPNs have some other benefits though. So don't take my post as saying "VPNs are useless". This vulnerability isn't really about anonymity though. My guess is that Microsoft will patch it, if the VPN providers can set their route priority lower than what the dhcp option then Microsoft won't have to do anything. Please note that this attack requires a malicious DHCP server. It won't be an issue at home, but it might be an issue at for example a coffee shop. It is also detectable. So if you are worried, check your routing table. -
bit of a self-inflicted predicament got 2 paper…
BiotechBen replied to Dillpickle23422's status update
I recently had a Labster sim for replacing a bad lab grade, 2 attempts. First attempt was 87 minutes and 65%. Found out that if you speedrun the program, it actually works correctly, so I speedran it 100% in 14:07. -

Yep, a Pixel is most likely a good choice. The A15 might not be a bad phone, but in 2024 I wouldn't buy something without 5G support.
