Day Twenty Five - Captain WaffleMachine, Attack Pattern Omega

Well... what an event it has been so far, with only ten days left it is hard to imagine that there will be any major upsets this late in the event. But, even if the top of the stable is mostly static, the rest of the table is in a state of constant flux and I don't think there will be much clarity down there until the end of the event. I guess what I'm saying is thank you for folding, but now is the time to throw everything you have at it, a Raspberry Pi, an old GPU, Google Cloud credit, your smart fridge that has been hacked with Linux... anything you have, I want it.

Now, how are we looking as a team? Today has been yet another average day for the event after producing 2,172,153,659 points over the last 24 hours. It is going to be interesting to see how that changes as the event winds down, will people start to reduce their output as their resolve wavers or will we see a last-minute spurt of action as people vy for the best rank they can muster? Only time will tell. As for the week so far we can see that the team produced 8,519,940,719 points, a very respectable showing to say the whole team isn't included, only the event participants. Finally, for the big number, the team has managed an incredible 53,325,633,755 points over the event so far. On the work unit front, the team has folded through 5,759 Work Units today, which seems to point to a higher yield per WU than earlier in the event. For the week the Work Unit count goes up to 22,410, which is beautiful, Work Units are the real metric to look at when trying to see how much simulation has actually been produced and for the event that number goes up to 142,671! Beautiful. When looking at the daily breakdown we can see that the top ten produced 43.65%, a massive increase over other updates, the top 50 managed 71.79% and the top 100 covered 86.35% of the day's total production. That works out as, 948,058,141 points for the top ten, 1,559,439,907 points for the top 50 and 1,875,751,698 for the top 100 participants.

I'm going to declare it now, Mxyzptlk can not be caught, it is just unfeasible for anyone to catch up at this point. He is sitting on the throne with 3,427,799,034 points. I have to say I would love for him to produce even more and hit 5 billion points before the end of the event but maybe that is asking too much of the soon-to-be king. Shlouski is filling in the silver spot on the podium, he takes the rank with 2,839,816,704 points and although he will be a challenger to the throne I'm sure he will be pleased. miker07 is the last on the podium, taking up the bronze post with a total of 2,583,712,082 points. But if the man in number five has his way he will be losing that rank before the end of the event. Justaphf who may be the number one man on the team overall is also in danger of the man behind. But for right now he takes the rank of fourth with 2,570,272,974 points. jakkuh_t decided he wanted to take some of the LTT hardware for a walk today and produced an incredible 174,325,455 points, meaning we have a new record for the most points produced in a single day, it was only a few days ago when our soon-to-be king set the record and it will be interesting to see if he will try to break the record once again or if he will relent. Jake takes the rank with 2,465,004,290 points. Alex Atkin UK is in 6th with 1,891,244,279, he has been a very consistent performer during the event but despite that consistency, it seems he won't even manage a top 5 rank. In previous events, he would have been fighting for the crown so that must leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Gorgon is up next filling in the number seven spot with 1,686,698,443 points followed rather distantly by _Rlocke who takes up 8th with 1,240,191,023 points. firedfly is napping on the job, but even if this nap continues I think he will manage to keep a top-ten spot by the end of the event. He takes the rank with 1,148,598,346 points. Finally, we have the honourable gatekeeper. vsteel is once again taking up the post with 887,965,160 points.

Now that we have that out of the way why don't we find some excitement in the ranks? Aaron128l gained three ranks, which usually wouldn't get you a spot on the blog, but managing to gain them to take over 51st is quite a feat, he takes his new rank with 242,414,296 points. WaffleMachine gained three ranks today, it looks like he will be overtaking TVwazhere by the time we next have a blog, he takes his current rank of 120th with 85,626,277 points. Oestle is a name I don't recognise and don't think has made it into a blog post yet during the event, they gained four ranks to take over 143rd with 63,523,598 points.
