    HDR400 vs HDR10

the certifications means almost nothing in terms of actual hdr viewing experience, the cheapest monitor that has decent hdr is the aoc q27g3xmn https://www.amazon.com/AOC-Q27G3XMN-Adaptive-Sync-DisplayHDR-Zero-Bright-dot/dp/B0C8ZJKPWC/ref=sr_1_3?crid=IIXN6RVJ1V8T&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.EQ1xftwKmBxo18z0HwdFMdimCbJnXBS0DIzkaUZdk2w7F8Ym1Rx0Njw1Pj4Lia1dkvZ4hZkL_vJSPBq-Bc-g7-T2vyGh6GTzq8NdnGsqeSqKYGvotkqM6ZcBuI_PZuaYpxrVfVje8xhvviSsgR_LEnwgJiuWbKDVN_R8Qm5m_cvpYzXXkUpj6soYpQAfsE9MMiDuFA0-n-AUZXf__FPuX3FSG_K3tNCF32pf38toSeQ.vmCIMbOz58Rdu4DkimXQI1baE2RMOX4DrBkkL8JQXE8&dib_tag=se&keywords=aoc+mini+led+monitor&qid=1714149887&sprefix=aoc+mini+led+monitor%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-3 next one up is the ktc M27P20 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG3XZFY7/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A1HMEUY6L6RX3B&th=1
  2. in that case the asus one is better
  3. the GM panels are some of the worst ips panels around, the asus is the best one out of the list. check if the msi g274qpf-qd is available in ur region, that or the asus, get the one thats cheaper.
  4. after digging into it a bit it seems like the E2 is about the same as the original with firmware update and better calibration. if you are in the US it's 275usd and it's pretty much the best edgelit monitor out there ever since the first one came out in 2020. Would not consider the dell over the cheaper g274qpf-qd at 215usd LG's low contrast is definitely noticeable. The other option to consider is the q27g3xmn for the cheapest mini-led available for hdr.
  5. the part that sticks out to me was pulling the cmos, the card might be fine.
  6. both occt and furmark are can break the cards, not worth the risk and not what i'd personally sure for any kind of benchmark, just use 3d mark and actual games (cyberpunk2077, helldivers etc)
  7. the LG monitors have low contrast and color volume compared to the g274qpf-QD, they were good when they came out but unfortunately LG won't/can't use QD panels. I've seen the g274qpf-QD for as low as 200usd, make sure it's the qd version, the non-qd version is bad https://tinyurl.com/33j5mw3k the offbrand model of the same panel is sometimes seen for 175usd, h27t22 another option is the aoc q27 if you want a budget mini-led, it's a decent VA panel https://tinyurl.com/2p8c4ymc my LG's sitting around, i can't recommend it in 2024 unless it's really cheap.
  8. most likely a demand issue, 1080p is about 20% of the market last i checked. You are the first person i've seen that's asking for a 24inch oled/hdr. IIRC there were 1440p 24inch panels that were designed but no demand for it, premium 1080p monitors likely fall into the same category. For me personally i prefer my main display to be 4k, as small as they can make it (my perfect monitor also doesn't exist), i'd use 1080p and 1440p monitor as text mons but that's about it. If there's a 24inch 4k monitor with all the bells and whistles i'd be interested but 27inch 4k oled is slated for 2025, there's no shot we are getting 24inch 4k of any kind. the viewing experience of higher pixel density isn't something thats in demand, so i just settle for whats available. Most people sit alot further away.
  9. it's different case by case but i'd guess the ram settings are the sole issue here, some corsair models just don't work as well. i'd recommend 2 sticks of gskill instead since you are having problems.
  10. the blooming less noticeable than the pg27uq, but if u sway ur head in a dark scene it's definitely still there (the mouse cursor mostly), ktc's basically the guys that's been making the monitors, the other brands (msi, gigabyte, CM etc are just white labels of the same monitors), that said i wouldn't count on warranty beyond what amazon offers. Overall the risk is fairly low and you are getting a better monitor for a quarter of what the 2018 models cost (my dead x27 is still sitting behind me )
  11. i think that's the default afterburner settings, the card even on stock/auto should ramp up higher.
  12. for hdr i'd recommend this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG3XZFY7/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A1HMEUY6L6RX3B&psc=1 for edgelit on a budget the msi g274gpf-qd https://www.amazon.com/s?k=msi+g274qpf-qd&i=electronics&crid=3MC0VNQ3T15NF&sprefix=msi+g27%2Celectronics%2C137&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_4_7
  13. the m27p20 would be a straight upgrade from the pg27uq for 525usd, the fan is rarely on unlike the 2018 models, which is now obsolete. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG3XZFY7/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A1HMEUY6L6RX3B&psc=1 it uses the same panel as the gp27u https://www.amazon.com/s?k=gp27u&crid=2HD7FCQ1HLBTE&sprefix=gp27u%2Caps%2C137&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 wider color gamut, more zones, brighter hdr etc, blooming still exists. I have a bias toward mini-led, i had them side by side and the overall colors on the oled look noticeably worse. However the green and gray looks better on the oled which has a lower color gamut, text clarity, but no blooming, it's personal perference. my recommendation for oled is the msi 321urx for 900usd https://www.amazon.com/MSI-MPG-321URX-QD-OLED-Quantum/dp/B0CTSC3VS4
