and why not?

It's soldered onto the board. There's no way to remove or replace it.

It's an iMac, dude. It was never gonna happen.

and why not?

No, because it's soldered on the motherboard. Also, drivers.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Well another question that rises is whenever or not the card will fit in the slot and whenever or not the heatsink is perfectly aligned with the holes on the "new" gpu.

Also upgrading something that is from 2009...that is an AIO (All-in-One) is something that IMO might not be worthwhile. But that is just me

yes i completely comprehend where you are going ,but thats why i ask if is possible and should i try, the graphics card could be easily replaced as i opened my mac a couple of times already , and i had an alienware and graphic is exactly the same

If this isn't your main machine, and you have the money to throw away if it doesn't work, by all means. It could be a "fun" side project

But if it is your daily driver, disassembling something like an iMac, than re-assembling afterwards, you might not have a peasant time. And if it doesn't work, than you feel like you wasted a good chunk of time disassembling it twice.

Nevertheless this forum you are asking on is purely PC related so it is rare for anyone here to have some sort of experience with an iMac.

Someone most likely has, but it's most likely not on this forum.

You would probably have better luck finding an actual answer on something like insanelyMac or other forums for Macs.

Otherwise, best of luck if you do upgrade the GPU. And if I may, I apologize for the forum's ignorant assumptions.

whops, didn't notice it was from 2009. Either way imacs ship with custom firmware that only runs properly on the stock available configurations. A 765m not only couldn't possibly be on that list because it wasn't out yet, it's also from nvidia, which means it's almost guaranteed to not even turn on.
