Broken pci?!?

For some odd reason crossfire didn't work. I tried moving my bridge but nothing happen. I noticed that both cards were recognized. I returned the second gpu. After that, I put my primary card into the second slot and it wasn't recognized at all. Is the second slot broken? Pls help.

CPU: i7 4790k

Gpu:r9 270x

Motherboard: Asus b85m-e

Ram: 8 gb ddr3-1600

HDD: 1 tb 7200rpm
