how color accurate is the Asus PB279Q (not pg279q) and is it good

im curious how color accurate is the asus pb279q (not pg279q). im going to be using it for photo and video editing. also is it a good monitor.

Should be pretty accurate, since it's an IPS panel, but you can always calibrate it.

what is the difference between a and b in asus do you know

PA monitors are calibrated in the factory, PB are not.

All depends on what model vs what model. 10bit panels is a stand out feature in a number of them as well.

a PA series panel though 4K alibrated panels are slim to come by I actually dont know if there are any 10bit ones yet.

The PB279Q is a 4K IPS panel, but is not a wide-gamut monitor. The PA279Q is 1440p but does have a wide-gamut backlight. Unless you're working with content in the AdobeRGB color space, this won't be useful though.

 

IMO the Dell P2715Q is a better and usually cheaper monitor than the PB279Q unless you really need built-in speakers.

I actually didnt know about that monitor. In the ASUS title they tout "10-bit color" but that's just the look up table so its not actually 10bit. :( its 8bit 100% sRGB and 75% NTSC

I have the PA279Q I think id want a 4K or even 5K variant of that before i upgrade.
