Should I worry about this?

doctorraichu

I'm planning a new build, and in the compatability notes it says

Some AMD A78 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaveri CPUs.

Should I be worried?

Depends on which CPU you'll be using with it.

I wouldn't get an AMD CPU, even if it is the x4 860k. Also no, you shouldn't be worried. It should work fine, and if not you should be able to flash the BIOS to a newer version no problem.

How the fuck did you know it was 860k?

Boss like that.

I'd go with the G3258 because even though it has less cores you have a better platform and better upgrade path, you could get an i5 or i7 for a substantial performance increase- where as there is no where logical way to go to if you want to upgrade on FM2+.

Also I've overclocked the G3258 to 4.6Ghz on a stock cooler and it performed like a boss in games with a GTX 750ti.
