Simple RAM Compatibility Question

Hi, I'm working on a build log restoring an old Optiplex GX520 (see signature if you want to check it out), and I wanted to know how much RAM (as in capacity, not DIMM sticks) the processor, a Celeron D 326, could support. I know the max speed, but I couldn't find capacity on the Newegg page, the Intel Specs page, or anywhere else. Just a simple question to anyone who may know.

Isn't this supposed to be determined by the motherboard? Which model it is?

Litteraly the first motherboard I've seen that doesn't have the socket parralel with the board.

You sure? I've seen 4GB sticks of DDR2.

Sure, why not. Give it a try; though "oficial" support isn't there, it MAY work. But there's only one way to find out: by trial and error.

 

Hopefully not the error, but you get the point.
