Folding Client: local connecting inactive

So I just move to my college dorm and I'm on wired internet. However, I can't connect to Fold. Should I reinstall or something?

Does your college allow Torrent? Most app filters detect the Folding download as a Torrent and so block it. Can you ping things and surf? Then most likely that. Unfortunately, they would have to whitelist all the servers here:

Or, maybe contact the local IT - let them know what is going on - maybe they can make an exception for you on the firewall.

Sound more like to me the classic "port 80 and/or 8080 is block" issue to me.

Click on both of these links below and see if you can get a web page to come up saying "ok"

http://assign.stanford.edu/    Port 80

http://assign.stanford.edu:8080/    Port 8080

If either 1 of these web pages (or both) doesn't show "Ok", then you'll have problems attempting to connect to F@H servers.
