"The RenderBox" 64GB 12 Thread Rendering/Gaming Machine- Build Log

iamdarkyoshi

Hello guys, I would like to put up a build log of my rendering machine that I will be selling here. Everything has been used before, except for the RAM. I just got it in today, brand new.

This machine is up for sale now!

I know I built this on a bed. I was grounded to earth and its very humid right now.

So what do you guys think? Did I do good for all used parts? This was essentially a rebuild of someone else's PC. Tomorrow I will install an OS and do some benchmarks. I know that the GPU is certainly lacking, but I will sell these ( have two), and I need something in it for video outputs...

Three points:

1. You built it on a bed. It's not like it's going to die now because of it, but you're adding a variable that you shouldn't if you have the ability not to.

2. PSU's not the best out there, I question it's quality but I could be wrong.

3. The cooler is mounted "wrong". The quotes are there because it can and will mount properly like that, but the airflow doesn't make complete sense considering you're sucking hotter air off of the GPU and pushing it through the CPU. You might drop temps a little by flipping it.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

^^^^

1: I know I build it on my bed but its super humid here and I was grounded. If I managed to kill it, well, then I am a dumbass.

2: These PSUs were what had been in these machines for years. I really do not like them either, but I took one apart and they seem on par with corsair's mid range series of supplies.

3: I could mount the rear ran as an intake, but this would not provide negative pressure. There is a 200mm fan on the front and top. I wanted negative pressure so that the GPU might get some air in from the rear.

5960X would of been even better but it still looks good. If you had the budget a better case with LED lights could of turned this build from good to amazing but you need it for rendering not looks. Good job.

[Case Mod] Operation: The Division --- > Here

[CUSTOM WATER COOLED TABLE] Project: Ravage ---> Here

All of these parts were bought as a fully assembled PC for a very good price. I might add lighting.
