2G signal strength compared to 3G

Looking into a new phone, stuck between the nokia 208/130 (yes not the fanciest, who gives a fuck)

 

the main reason for this is that i will be going to remote places, where i would have bad reception, and i am wondering if you'd put a 2G antenna the same distance  from a phone as a 3G antenna, would there be a large difference in signal strength?

If you are going to remote locations a lot, Go for the choice with the most connection options.  some devices can't use 3G but can do 4G for example...  Be wary.
