Gaming PC Upgraded! NEED Opinions

Guest
So this pc has come a long way. It started all when i was a stupid boy (7) I started with the worst pc possibly. Then as about 3-5 years went on i found what us old timers call WOW and my dad built me a new pc. Then from that pc i slowly started getting interested in how PC's work and i eventually wanted another gaming pc about 1-2 years later. At that point i understand almost nothing about PC's but i was getting more interested and asking more questions. Then from that last pc i decided i wanted to build and upgrade my own pc and i never actually upgraded until about 2- 1/2 years later. At this point I'm turning 15 and i had decided what i wanted to get. I still didn't really know for sure until after christmas which is when i bought my first pc parts. i5 CPU, z97 gaming 3 mobo, and EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ti, and my case which i got for free because my dad had an extra from work (All of this is in the current part list) Everything else hard drive, RAM, power supply, optical drive, and OS have already been in the computer since the 3rd computer i got for christmas. The headset, Keyboard and Mouse i bought black friday. All this build is, is a part list of what my computer is now and what i plan on adding (New GPU, and an SSD). I'm asking for your feedback and what i could do to improve this build since i am selling my PS4 and i have a job so I'm rolling with fat bills ($150 a week. $75 spending $75 savings ):  !EDIT! Power Supply will be replaced.![EDIT]!

What I'm trying to get out of this PC- This PC is a gaming pc. The main use of this pc will be for games and just general pc uses. Secondary uses of this pc will be for homework since I'm a high school student and I will be attending college, for recording instruments, specifically drums, Video editing and of course downloading movies/games/music/.

As for new parts I'm adding a AMD Sapphire Radeon r9 290 GPU which i bought on eBay for $180 used. The guy has sold multiple and it seemed fishy but he said i could test the card out and test it to see if it had been used for mining which i don't know how to do.. Then an SSD- Samsung 850 250gb Just for speed when booting programs and my PC. As for new parts i want to get idk... Please tell me what could use an upgrade or improve the pc thanks!

[EDIT] Forgot to add case fans. I want to get the NEW NZXT H440 case though IDK if it comes with fans. I'm actually looking for any good case with a very basic look. I want a white or metal looking case with some solid features. Not looking to spend much money.

Thanks and please leave some good ( or bad) feedback.

For the love of god please change that power supply. That thing is a ticking timebomb, I don't care what your dad says.

From the comments I've been getting on both forums trust me I'll change the power supply. IDK what i should buy because I'm trying to save money where i can.

I was recommended this power supply but I'm looking for something cheaper.

Seems like a solid build other than the part that shall not be named. This should hold you down for a good while.

Sounds good! I'm wondering what you think about the monitors though. Do you think they are do for an upgrade when i have the cash or should i keep em until they stop working?

I'm also looking for a new case. I want a simple white case that has plenty of room for upgrading and cord management. As well as a window to view the pc if i can. Not looking to spend too much. I was looking at this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146148&cm_re=h440-_-11-146-148-_-Product But it's said to have bad air flow. Should i be concerned? Also it's a "Mid Tower" I was hoping to get a full sized.

As far as cases go with your preferences and same price range as the link you provided, this should do you fine if you are looking for something simple.

Or something with a little more jazz to it this would be good also.

Hey Jcdanible,

Regarding the storage, I would check the HDD for errors since you are reusing it. I would suggest running WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool and see if the drive is still healthy and safe to store your data: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=38wjUS
It is always a good idea to check the S.M.A.R.T. status of a storage drive if you are reusing it before trusting your data to it. :)

The H440 comes with 4 fans, 3 120mm in the front and 1 140mm in the rear. The airflow is okay, but not the best in the market but the case is quiet. You can remove the hard drive trays to make the airflow a bit better. I removed one of the 120mm fans and put a rad there instead which works fine, but my GPU runs a little hotter than I'd like to me but still way way below anything concerning! Cracking looking case as well. Very clean look from the outside. I'm sure Linus did a video on it, you should check it out.

As for as cable management, I find that I have a little bit of a squeeze because of the noise dampening on the rear, which WILL end up dented and sliced, but loads of places to tie things down and hide the PSU cables if you don't have a modular PSU. The case is not as huge as I feared it would be, but bigger than my old mid-sized tower.

CPU: AMD 7800X3D Motherboard: NZXT B650E RAM: 32GB 5600 30-CL Corsair Vengeance DDR5 GPU: MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 2070 PSU: Corsair RM850i Monitor: Samsung 27" 4K thing Cooling:Noctua Chromax Black NH-D15: Case: NZXT H510 Black
