Help choosing a monitor

Go to solution Solved by michaelk12,

Response time doesn't really matter. First of all, it is physically impossible for a human to tell a few thousandths of a second difference, 5 vs 8 for example, no matter what anyone tells you. Second, there is no industry standard for measuring response time. The number they give you may or not take into account certain variables that impact the total latency. I'd recommend what @ELSknutson said, displayport-> hdmi adapters are quite simple and cheap. That's one of the big benefits of DP, that it is the easiest to adapt from to another plug. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C9P9TM?gclid=CjwKEAjw2cOsBRD3xNbRp5eQxzYSJADZGYbzWGiNXqysLwgOShv_XszbdISCcyZJoWSnPBqR10TxgxoCeoPw_wcB

Hi,

I currently own a Asus VX239H monitor which has served me well for gaming and movies, but I'm looking to get a second monitor so I can watch movies while playing games.
I would just get the same monitor again, but the GTX 970 Strix I have only has one HDMI port and a DisplayPort so I was looking for a monitor with a DisplayPort and an ISP Panel with 5ms response time to go with my current monitor.

I found two options so far:

-The Asus VX279Q the only other Asus monitor of my current type that has a DisplayPort, but it is 27 inches instead of 23 inches
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VX279Q-27-inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B00DRPYS5S/ref=pd_cp_147_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=05GSB1V03NNN70GNB9BZ

Or

-The AOC I2369VM, which is cheaper and has the display port, but i'm not sold on AOC build qulaity at that price
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-I2369VM-BK-23-Inch-Monitor/dp/B00SFQGN02/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1435618413&sr=1-2&keywords=I2369VM

Any input of the quality of either monitor would be helpful, or possible another suggestion that I have missed as long as it matches my criteria

Thanks in advance.

The bezels will match up if I get the 27 inch Asus. And I've heard of people having issues of reliability with DisplayPort to HDMI adapters.
