Good and affordable Power Supply!

Go to solution Solved by incarnate,

so basically its the same board with no overclock support?

yep. definitely worth picking up. going from a i5 4460 to an unlocked cpu wouldn't be worth the money so might as well save on the motherboard too :)

besides its asus. its an awesome board.

Why the 4690k with the GTX 960 :L Y U NO LOCKED i5 and GTX 970?

If this is a gaming build, this will be much better for you http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yvpk3C

YOU PAID $300 for a GTX 960? YOU BOUGHT THE 4GB 960? -throws keyboard, jumps off bridge- WHY

I am so sad right now. You got scammed. For like $40 more you could've gotten a far superior graphics card that also has 4gb of memory. If you can return the 960 4gb, that would be great because you got burned hard on that purchase.

EVGA b2 is 750w, like $70-80 ($50 after rebate), and the 12v ripple and stability is insanely good. The johnnyguru reviews for the superflower EVGA power supplies are amazing, You'll have some growing room, but I'd get it just for the stability and reliability. I already have one :D

The corsair cx is great value and come in a variate of wattages.

I mean, they're somewhat passable units, but spend a little bit more and you can get a far better unit OP.

Don't get the 4gb 960. A 100.00 premium isn't worth it since it is almost the price of the much better performing 970.

4460 + 970 will be WAY better than 4690k and 960. Get a PSU from Seasonic/Evga/XFX or a PSU from the Coolermaster V series like the V550.

4GB 960! WITH A 4690k

You literally got scammed. The 2gb 960 is ok. But the 4gb 960 is just an absolute waste of money, pimping out the VRAM on mid-range GPUs is marketing crap. You could've gotten a computer with a much better graphics card at the same price :(

No. The big problem is the 4gb 960 cancerizing the whole computer. If you want to save money get a 2gb 960 or 3gb R9 280x. That's an overclockable motherboard incase you want to upgrade to an OCable CPU but if you want to save money get this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97anniversary

I think I made myself sound confusing.

Why use a Z97 motherboard if you get an locked CPU? Safe on your motherboard and scrap the 212 Evo and get a GTX 970.

You can save money on the case, you don't need an aftermarket CPU cooler, you can save 50$ on the mobo because you don't need a Z97

The Core i5 4460 is a locked CPU, which means that you are unable to overclock it. Motherboards with the Z97 chipset are made to overclock, which in this case you are not able to do. Because you are unable to overclock the CPU, you don't need an aftermarket cooler because the stock cooler will be fine because the CPU will run at clock speeds.

And the GTX 970 is a hell of a lot better than the GTX 960
