GPU causes PSU coil whine

Hey guys

 

I just got my new Corsair AX860i PSU which I bought because my old PSU started to coil whine when I was folding/boinc. And now my new PSU coil whines ASWELL! Thats just annoying. 

I'm pretty sure the sounds come from my PSU but how is this freakin possible AFTER exchanging the damned thing? It only starts to whine when I'm folding on my GPU. But the strange thing is, that when I'm benching my system, (gpu and cpu at max load, which should stress the PSU more than just folding) it doesn't give any tones.

 

Anyone got any ideas about whats going on?

There is always coil whine and its not something that you can escape from. I go on the offensive with these kinda things. Blast music and move your pc further away from you. Take the gpu out and test if there is still whining. If the gpu is new then you might be able to return it.

My TX650 sometimes whines but when I move the psu cable a bit it stops whining somehow...

Coil whine will not affect anything its just that the noise is irritating. Heard that people can RMA their psu because of coil whine on their psu.
