Hello there, I was upgrading my old PC's memory to 16GB. I was looking for Corsair Vengeance 1866. Corsair wasn't available and the local dealer advised to go for HyperX and there is no difference between vengeance and HyperX (He had HyperX in stock). Now the my system is not booting with HyperX. My old system has Asus P7H55-V.

Please advise.

PS: pcpartpicker.com say HyperX FURY is Compatible with H55 chipset. Screenshot attached.

Thanks,
Best Regards.

I started off with some shitty Dell Inspiron 580S. So the Dell motherboard and 6GB of Hynix ram that came with it. I was planning on selling all of that, but one of my friends homes burnt down, so I gave him it. His HDD and 660ti survived the fire. :D Same with his Alienware 17x with an i7 and sli 770Ms. That stuff now sits in a NZXT H440 Razer Edition since all of my friends are Razer lovers. :(

Now this is my main rig. I accidentally scratched the window at a friends house over the weekend. :( I need the other side panel replaced anyways.

I have reset the CMOS and still my machine keeps on rebooting. Memory sticks that I bought are HyperX FURY Black 1866 2x8GB (16GB). pcpartpicker says that HyperX is compatible with P7H55-M (My motherboard is P7H55-V). I dont know what the problem could be. I haven't reset the BIOS.

Maybe the kit is defect? Try the usual ram-dance: Remove one stick, try to boot. If it doesn't change anything, take the you left in your system and put it in a different slot. If it still doesn't boot, try the removed stick.

Already done the ram-dance. Now I am using Kingston 4GB 1333 the one that system had prior the upgrade. I bought HyperX on 9th of this month. I had no luck on my own so I have created this forum.

Could be that. The ASUS site says 4xDIMM 16GB (1066, 1333, 1600, 1800, 2133 and 2200)

[FROM WEBSITE]

4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory

Dual Channel memory architecture

Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

*Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs. Some hyper DIMMs only support one DIMM per channel. Please refer to Memory QVL for details.

** To reach DDR3 2200 MHz, you are required to use with Intel Core i7/Core i5 CPU without iGPU and install a discrete graphics card. When using Intel Core i5/Core i3/ Pentium CPU with iGPU, the maximum memory speed supported is 1600+ MHz

***Refer to www.asus.com or this user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).

Yep I think you just answered your own question

No where on the asus site or the qvl sheets does it say 8gb modules are supported.

Board supports 16gb only in 4x4gb configurations. Not 2x8gb
