CPU fans out of control?

AcMaiden

I have full control over my 3 SysFan but for some reason, I can't control the 2 fans that are plugged in the CPUFan connector. Even if there is a nice little panel in the BIOS that offers ''smart fan mode''.

It's anoying because it looks like they are stuck at 100% speed all the time which makes the computer noisy even at iddle.

I have the MSI gaming 3 mobo.

turn off smart fan mode?  Maybe your CPU is running hot so the smart fan mode is running at 100%.

THIS IS MY SUPER TEENY TINY SIGNATURE!

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.

At least in ASUS, in the AIsuite software in windows, it allows me to change the CPU fan speed, can you do the same with an equivalent MSI software? Or even speedfan?

I think you would be best off changing your cpu fan settings in the bios and setting a minimum speed.

Tried already. My CPU is running around 30C on iddle so shoudn't be a problem

I don't know an equivalent MSI software if not MSI afterburner but that's only for GPU fans. Maybe I should try speedfan again. I didn't like it at all the first time but it might be my only choice now...

MSI Command Center and BIOS are linked. So that would be the control software. What fans, 3pin or PWM?

3pin

Well thats part of the problem. All profiles in BIOS are made for PWM fans. Turn it back to automatic or select DC control and it should work better.
