Build complete! Can I use wireless keyboard/mouse for first boot?

VagabondWraith

As the title says, I'm wondering if I can use a wireless mouse/keyboard for the very first boot, or do I need a wired device? Sorry if it seems like a noob question. haha I'm sure that wireless requires drivers but unsure if it will still recognize it in the bios. My build is complete and I will be picking up the keyboard/mouse tomorrow.

Thanks a lot guys!

I seen some video's of Windows being installed using wireless keyboards and a mouse and others use a hard wired keyboards and a mouse,my self prefer to use a wired keyboard and mice just in case the wireless does not work, once I have everything installed then I would connect my wireless keyboard and mouse as you will probably need to install drivers for both if you bios or Windows does not recognize ether of them..

I'm looking at the Logitech MK550 wireless board/mouse combo. It's not much right now... plan on getting higher end mouse & board down the road. On the specs of it it says it has plug-n-play. You think that would work?

Yeah it would work.

What keyboard and mouse do you plan on getting further down the road?

Not quite sure yet. Eventually want to get a mechanical keyboard and nice mouse. Won't be for a few months though. This build emptied my wallet. :D

lol, I understand. Don't get Razer products. They are good (I use a blackwidow 2014) but VERY overpriced. Don't get Mad Catz stuff either.

Something Corsair. K70 is a good option. SteelSeries is good aswell. Razer make good mice though, I don't own one but I hear a lot of good things about them from people I know that do. DeathAdder especially.

I'll heed the advice. I appreciate it. I would like a backlit board since I will play mostly in the dark. (No windows downstairs.) I would preferably like a red led backlit board since it would match my color scheme. Not really a must, just for cosmetic purposes for anything.

Good recommendation for him for sure. I was doing some research on keyboards and the K70 was a good pick. Only problem is the software is apparently convoluted as all Hell. Only problem I see recommending that to him. May give him more of a headache than it is worth.. Hahaha.

I'm going to punch your face- IN THE FACE.

Yeah that's true. That is one of the pluses of Razer products. But, with this keyboard there's only one backlighting colour so there isn't really a need to use the software unless he wants macros.

This is also really nice, the sniper button gets in the way a bit but it's RGB lighting so you can make it red to match your build.
