Hey lukky211111,

Would you rather prefer a portable external drive, a DAS (Direct Attached Storage - basically a larger external drive) or a NAS (Network Attached Storage)?

I could suggest checking out Western Digital's solutions and see if any of them meet your needs. All of them work great as backups and are pretty reliable:

Portable drives for PC and Mac: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/external/portable/

DAS: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/external/desktop/

NAS: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=Ekobfh

You also have the option to get a regular internal drive (HDD, SSD, dual drive or SSHD) and use it in an enclosure.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^

Apologies for the links, there was a problem with the website. Here are the working links:

DAS is a great solution for backups. Just make sure it is disconnected when not performing a backup (unless you are not doing a continuous one. :)
