60Hz or 144Hz for Nvidia Surround?

I'm planning to build a new gaming set up with new PC and of course, new monitors. I'm really confused right now whether or not to choose 144Hz monitors. I want to use Nvidia Surround for this set up. But, I don't know should I buy 2 more monitors like the one I'm using right now (Asus VN 247H-P) which is 1080p, 1ms, 60Hz or buy 3 new 1080p,1ms, 144Hz (like the Asus VG248QE). I have never used or tried any 144Hz monitor so I have no idea what should I do. Can anyone give me some suggestions? If you have any opinion about this, please don't mind commenting below this topic. I want to hear from everybody. Thank you.

Go for the 60Hz monitors. You're not going to be able to run surround at frame rates that will justify 144Hz monitors without turning down a lot of settings.

There's no point in going for 144Hz monitors, as you're not going to be getting the benefit of 144Hz in surround. 144Hz is only worth it when running over 100FPS, which isn't happening in games that are reasonably demanding.

Go for the 60hz. What Oshino Shinobu is saying is that most AAA type games right now are too demanding for most setups to display at 100+fps, so really you wouldn't benefit from anything other than being able to brag about your monitors. That being said, if you have something crazy like a triple 980 setup, or a couple titans, etc. then it might be useful, but chances are that you don't... You would be best off saving a few bucks, and just grabbing those two 60hz monitors. Besides, as long as you aren't having screen tearing, you wouldn't really be helped with 144hz monitors unless you play a lot of competitive style games.

Id say it depends on what you plan on playing and using to drive it. I will never go lower then 120hz monitors. If there is that big of a price difference, then go the cheap route. I assume you have gamed on a higher refresh rate monitor and are willing to downgrade back to 60hz.

I'm quite happy with my LG 29um55  which is a 29" ultra wide 2560x1080 and it runs at 75hz.

 

 I'm hoping I can add another r290 and also add two 23" monitors on the sides..  I've read that two r290's will run the 29" and two 23" monitors pretty nice..

 

might be another option for you.
